Hi, I have a 156 2.4 JTD 10v. I want to change the auxiliary drive belt. Was following a guide on Alfa Workshop which says "Using a spanner on the bolt in the middle of the auxiliary belt tensioner move the tensioner anti clockwise then slip the belt of the pulley". Can someone confirm wether...

Well this is something new for me... Alfa forums! I'm looking for a new possible car for the wife and have always had a soft spot for alfas. I'm generally a vauxhall man but recently bought an e46 m3 which is mainly a 3rd car cos I have a van for work and we have the family wagon as well...
  3. Alfa Giulietta
Guys, I've only driven my new Giulietta 350 miles and i'm already so disappointed with it. Other than the annoying loud rattle from the passenger door and the appalling fuel consumption, it will simply not drive in a straight line. I used it to do a 300 mile round trip and had to wrestle with...

Picking up my new G on Saturday morning and naturally will be desperate to take it out for a long cruise. I'm based in Surrey - and need some inspiration for a destination. All suggestions welcome. A signed picture of Gervinho's forehead for the best.

I have the n/s drive shaft off (separated at the 6 allan bolt inner end) which leaves the inner end of the drive shaft still in the gearbox. How do I remove this? do I just need to pull it out or do I have to remove the flange on the gearbox face. Thanks in advance.

I am getting a "check engine" warning on my 2007 159 2.2 JTS gasoline car which has only done 55,000 miles. Also the cam drive is noisy which probably indicates a stretched chain, which is the probable cause of the warning. Anyone else had this problem ? The garage that services the car says...

I had a day off a few fridays ago. the weather was nice, i had a few errands to run and the winter sun was shining. I was feeling pretty chilled pootling along the empty Drift Road at 50mph. No cars ahead, none behind, I could just drive and *maybe* I was singing along a bit to the radio ;)...

Hi everyone. I'm looking at replacing the two outer cv joints and roll bar rubbers to my 2005 147 2.0 ts ... I'm looking for advice on how easy it is to renew bushes and torque settings for drive shaft nut and other associated nut and bolts needed to strip and rebuild the job inhand... Can you...

Here is a thought for you... My pride and joy often gets left at home, (economics), and I'm criticised for not using it, "why don't you sell it" has been heard more then once... Last weekend I was a passenger whilst she drove the car, (Needs must!). I realised she was driving this like her...

Is there a product that does this without using a computer? I just want to tidy up a bit without losing the albums !

Then the clutch goes to the floor. Another issue with the so far very reliable 2.4 JTD 10V 156 :p In a nut shell; *The pedal bounces back as normal, but it's very easily pushed down, to the very bottom where the bite is. *I have to hold the clutch in hard to get 1st gear to work. Even slight...

I think we have all had these and I think I had my first one in the GTV. The weather in Cape Town on Saturday was close to perfect, clear blue sky, no wind and with the sun close to setting I thought I would take the GTV for a drive, not going anywhere in particular but just for the sake of...

My 1.6 twinky is heading into the 150+ plus mileage range now and, whilst she's still running sweet as and not smoking, although she does get through a bit of oil between services, I'm wondering if it's do-able? 1.6 and 2.0 twincam lumps can be had for about 200quid and would obviously drop...
  14. Introduce Yourself
My Honda Jazz is so relentlessly reliably boring that I finally followed my heart and bought myself my dream car: the Alfetta GTV 2.0, 1979 model. Red, of course. I bought it as is for R 11 000. It's been standing outside, more or less just "standing", for three years in the Cape Town wind and...

Need to be in Conwy North Wales tonight and my drive up there from Northants means I'll pretty much go right past the Evo Triangle. Weather could be better but am meeting a colleague with a 997 GTS en route so should be a fun day. Anybody done it before and got any hints or tips ? Sent from...
