degreaser

I just bought some engine degreaser for my sud, Gunk aerosol. It seemed like a good idea but now im a bit afraid to get stuck in... I dont want to damage anything or get the electrics wet. Any tips would be appreciated..

So in anticipation of this nice sunny warm weather, im going to give the car a proper good detail and one of the places that needs a proper good clean is the engine bay ;) So im after some engine degreaser to eat into the dirt and grime, so does any of you detailing wizards know what degreaser...
