Heard last night that Motor Village in Croydon is closing as from today. Anyone heard about this too? Very large and smart premises and there were very many cars (largely Fiat 500s) outside when I went past earlier this week. Perhaps low sales the cause.
I have a 2003 Alfa 147 Selespeed that needs some TLC it would seem and I don't want to drive her until she's had it.
I was hoping there was someone close to Croydon who could come round and put her on the computer so I can adjust the clutch rod and calibrate the selespeed...
Need to do a clutch rod adjustment and unfortunately not got a computer currently that can run Alfadiag / FiatEcuscan.
Is there anyone local to Croydon who has a laptop with one of them on, and is happy to help out for Beer money or otherwise?
Was passing my local Alfa Dealer yesterday and decided to replace my N/S wiper blade which had seen better days. Walked into the showroom, found the (unmanned) parts counter, pressed the bell and waited. Five minutes passed. Disinterested sales staff wandered around the cavernous space which was...
Gt some major issues - see other thread Selespeed hesitation and dead, heading for breakers.
Does any kind soul near croydon have the ability to read codes on a 2003 147 Selespeed for beer money?
I thought I'd share my experience in buying parts from Kinghams.
My first purchase turned out to be damaged. As I had to go back to Croydon to return it I thought I might as well pick up new badge whilst I was there. They sold me the wrong badge. Never again, I thought.
Fast forward a year or...
Afternoon fellow AO'ers in London. Another plea for help. I've found what looks like a decent car in South Coydon but would like the assistance of someone to do a visit before I make a journey to see it.
Would anyone be able to have a look and do the basic groundwork for me?
Thanks in advance.
I am after a fellow member who lives in South Croydon who may be able to do me a favour.
Seen a car, 147 2.0, and ideally would like someone to do a quick look at it before I decide to take a day trip to see it!
All offers of help greatly appreciated.
First post on here just wondered if anyone can recommend a good/reliable independant garage near Croydon. I have a 147 that's due an MOT and I am sure the rear dampers/bushes are on the way out!! The car is a 2001 model with only 31k on the clock but so far I have had a new gear box near...
Praise where it's due to the above dealers who've sorted out warranty issues on my new Spider over the last few days (rocking seat, loose gear lever & failed security system/steering lock).
Nothing over and above the call of duty but pleasant, swift service that solved the problems.
My heater fan stopped working. I checked the fuses and relay - all ok. At 130k it seemed likely it was worn out so I took it to my local reliable garage but they didn't have an electrician available.
It was still a bit cold and damp so I thought I needed to get it fixed - try the local dealer...
In April 2002, I bought an Alfa 145 Cloverleaf from Carcraft Newport.
Approaching my half century, this was my dream car.
I was assured by Carcraft that all was well and the car had a service history, so I took out their extended warranty/Vehicle Replacement Policy at an additional cost of...
New to site.
Waiting to pick up YR2000 2L Selespeed from dealer.
Anyone tried Kinghams of Croydon or can recommend independant in similar area?
Car bit vague on service history, done 62K miles, checks out OK on independant inspection - but want to book in for CAM belt change...
My sister just phoned me to tell me that Autoitalia (Fiat/Alfa) dealer in Croydon was on.
Caught the end of the report - wasn't good. They took a car in for basic service, garage came back with £1200 worth of needless repairs. On a Punto worth 2.5 grand!
