The metal petrol pipe that goes from front to back is badly corroded on my 4 door sud, so going to replace it with copper pipe. the question is what size should i use 6mm, 8mm,or 10mm?

I sometimes have problems to start my GTV. I have found some copper wiring around the starter lock that seems to be damaged. What does this part do? Will I need to recode the keys if I replace this part by a new or second hand one? Thanks!
