Hi all, I’m still hunting for the one, going to look at an odd one tomorrow, it’s a 155 Lusso in white with what looks like gun metal grey light surrounds with dark mirror casings but 17 Veloce wheels and interior, is this a one off or quite common to have this mix of Lusso/ Veloce , thanks in...

found the worst part of my oil leak. the pipe that leads from the oil filler housing, round to the oil segragator and down to the block. since rectifying that ive had it pressure washed off in the hope that would be the end of it. i planned to fix my dicky horn in the next couple of weeks and...
  3. Alfa Giulietta
On the way home from work tonight, i operated the rear wash wipe, not only did i get water spraying on the rear screen, the front washers were spraying too. Its grand to have the dodgy electrics that i had on my previous, 156, 159 and GT. Makes me realise that the G is indeed a real Alfa.
  4. Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
The story so far... My temp gauge had stopped working a while ago and I assumed it was the sender. I ordered another on eBay but they sent the wrong one (2 pin not 4). Any way, after getting stuck in traffic the gauge actually moved (normally I only drive on open roads) and after posting on here...

After all the work I had done on the front end of the Alfa (upper & lower wishbones, shocks/springs/mounts, track rod ends and ARB drop links...the list goes on..) I had the garage re-align the tracking at the front. Long story short and 3 attempts I lost faith in their ability to get it tracked...

So I went to pick my car up from it's service. Got a warm welcome, keys handed to me telling me all was perfect and a salute. I stopped the service rep and asked him for the service invoice (something they do not seem to give unless explicitly asked). He handed it to me and I read through the...

All, The GTV, (purchased a couple of months back), work continues... Have replaced the Cam Belt and Water pump, etc. a couple of weeks back, and last week it passed the MOT with what seemed 'minor' issues! However, as the work now continues I have a couple of queries... 1) What is the...

I recently had to strip the head assembly, intake manifold and exhaust etc as I had to rebuild my 145's head due to a belt strip caused by the water pump seizing and it all got worse about 2 weeks ago. Was driving to PE and as I was getting up to speed, changing from 4th to 5th at around 3500...

So I'm obviously a bit odd, because unlike many, I believe a JTS to be worth actually bothering with, and so that brings us to another episode of me meddling with it. A long time ago I put it on a dyno and got pretty much what I expected. A bit later I then had the head rebuilt - carbon horror...

Ok chaps, for those of you who haven't seen my previous posts, I have a problem with my reverse light/parking sensors/rearview mirrors. Whenever you engage reverse, a sensor installed on the gearbox housing, under the battery tray, is pressed, this sensor switches on the reverse light, rear...

Thanks everyone so far with the help with my previous problems with my 156, I now have another. I noticed when changing the cambelt the N/S fan was unplugged, I plugged it in today and noticed it just runs constantly (probably why it was unplugged). I googled and searched on here and can...

You may remember me asking for help with electrical faults. Well, most of them have been fixed, but I still have an issue which is puzzling all the mechanics including electrical specialists. This is what happens: I start the car and both Airbag warning lights show, now whilst these lights are...

The problems with the 2.4 JTdM 57 42000 miles continues. Just fixed split turbo hose [see other thread] get back from very gentle first trip out, open drivers door and smell really bad burning. Pop the bonnet after telling wife it can't be us and there is white smoke drifting up from bowels of...

Had a second of concentration lapse, and my 159 slammed into the central island on a residential road, at 15-20 mph. The result, is frontal damage, driver side, where the bumper seems to have cracked underneath. Also, the bottom guard is broken into pieces. The air filter housing completely...
  15. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
6 weeks ago my 05 GT JTD went in to the garage as it was noisy after I changed down to 2nd gear from 5th at about 70mph (honest, Officer). Initial diagnosis was two broken rockers. On reassembly, there was also an injector fault. This was sent away for reconditioning (twice). Whilst the...

Sorry to drag this up again but as it's been a few months I thought I'd ask..The 1.9 JTD mjet has been loosing water now for a good year or so now. Changed lots of parts. knackered rad waterpump, some pipes etc and checked all the rest. Car doesn't pressurise or boil over and no damp...

Started out looking for a 159 a few weeks back, and just cant seem to get what i want! Finally found a 2008 2.4 Ti Q4, but due to personal circumstances i wasn't able to get finances sorted in time to meet the buyers needs I have now been accepted for a very good finance offer, but they will...

Finally managed to track down someone who's crafted a fine exhaust manifold for a 2.0TS CF3. Pics below. A few of you may guess who it was who made it, but i'm not pointing fingers in case he doesn't want to be known. Very nice bit of kit, all stainless, TIG welded (not cheapo MIG ). 'Tis...

Hey guys. So I posted a thread earlier about a rattle that i thought was coming from the wiper motor area. I've re-fitted all this and sill the noise exsists, so I HAVE to belive that it is in the cabing behind the dash somplace.. It only occurs when the car is in motion and sounds like a...
