I have a 2014 gulieta and have/will be unable to drive it for a few months. I was planning on starting it up every three weeks to keep the battery topped up but it has already died (I am putting it down to the cold weather as the battery is only around 10 months old). I was wondering what the...

My habit is to keep both my iPhone and laptop connected to power whenever possible. So when at home I usually keep my phone and laptop charging, then take them both to work and reconnect to power while at work. Am I doing the right thing to maximise battery life or not? I recently bought a...

Hello! My 156 JTS 2.0 is not charging properly and stalled mid-drive. I got help to charge it enough from another car to get it home. Voltage across the battery measures about 11.5V but slowly sinking. The battery light is not working, it does not light up when I start only the ignition or when...

I see the positive point on the Giulia is in a little compartment under the bonnet near the windscreen, but the negative point is near the front of the bonnet so my crocodile clips do not reach. what do you guys do when trickle charging your cars?

Sorry if this is already a topic! My 1996 Spider wont charge it's battery. Starts ok on 'jump' and runs fine - went for 30 miles today to see what happens. When return and turn off the car, and then restart it, the lights die and the battery is empty. AA man today tested it and said it was...

  7. Alfa Giulia
Just wanted to share with you some interesting observations on the battery voltage as I have been driving around with a voltmeter in the 12V outlet in the ashtray of my Giulia Super 2.0 TB 200 hp ( Dec 2016 ) After starting the engine and driving off the voltmeter shows 12.8-13.0V. The voltage...

It seems that the alternator on my '01 147 1.6 is not working, as I get no more than battery voltage with the engine running. However, I get no warning on the dashboard. Is this normal? I would have expected a "battery charge low" warning to appear on the display. Looking around the forum...

So - I got a CTEK charger and charged up my Guilia 2.0 with the standard charge cycle, as I didn't know if I have an AMG battery. My Start/Stop still doesn't work (not that bothered really as I don't want it to work). Do I charge on the AMG cycle at 12.7v as opposed to 12.4v on the standard cycle?

Hello guys, this is my first "real" post (the first one was just the introduction post) and I'm still getting used to the messy layout on this forum so please redirect me to the right place to post this question if this is the wrong place (I don't know if it's okay to ask this question in the...

I was hard-wiring a dash cam and a sat nav (the Uconnect nav doesn't detect traffic jams, sadly) into my G today, and had a thought about using the dash cubby hole as a wireless charging station. I had a spare QI pad, so gave it a go - and it works, brilliantly. The qi induction loop attaches to...

Blue & Me... we hate each other.. the USB thing does not charge anymore suddenly.(with and without blue & me iphone adapter) I hear the connect chime sound but it no longer charges? Can't find what might be wrong as it makes a connection I don't suspect a plug, right? It used to work (you...

What's the best way to charge my battery? Suspected alternator failure and I need to charge it up a few times in the next week to ensure I can make a few journeys, and then get to the garage for the work. What spec charger do I need ?
  15. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
I have a bit of a charging issue with my TI, Friday morning I jumped in the car to go to work, the car started fine as usual but the battery light stayed on, thought this was odd but had fitted a connect 2 adaptor the night before and knowing my battery was a bit old I put it down to that and...

Hi All Wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction with adding a leisure battery to the car for extra power for in-car Audio. I have a new car battery and want to add a 110ah Varta Leisure battery that i have spare. I would like to go the cheapest route as possible and have split...

Quick one.....my battery keeps going flat and I'm not driving far enough to charge it, I've got a charger to give it s full charge then I'll put it in the garage with motion sensors disabled, can I just put it on charge while the battery is in and connected, or do I have to take it out? Cheers...

Hi, I would like to see if someone experience the same that eventually could toast the alternator. The story is like this, my Alfa Romeo GT batteries were used down to 5.6V after a rainstorm, due to the alarm kept trigger by the wind and heavy rain, my neighbour help me to jump start her from a...

Hi, Just wondering how people feel about charging a smart phone via 12v socket whilst ignition is on (otherwise socket is not on) and daytime running lights switched off. Do you think this will run the car battery down too much? Seen conflicting advice on line.

I'm suffering from the "blown bulb warning battery drain" issue, and frequently need to charge up my battery. Can I charge it up using the normal battery charge setting while the battery is still connected in the car? I can't really see why not, but thought I'd check in case I blow something...
