Hi everyone I’m driving a 2015 Mito Zagato (0.9) manual. I’m about to reach 90k KMs and I’ve been told I need to change my cambelt, after checking with my local shop, and having them check my cars serial number, I’ve been told I have a cam chain and not a belt, which doesn’t require changing...

My 159 Q4 cam chain is on 112000, I am daunted by the cost of the clutch and chain going in the same year, I would like to start a survey of how many miles people have got their chains to?

This is ridiculously cheap: Like a couple of others on here at the moment I've had a rear bank rattle diagnosed as a timing chain issue. My garage said it was a timing...

I have had a diagnostic check confirm that I need to change my timing chain on my 159. I need to drive to London from Scotland and back before getting the issue fixed. Can anyone tell me if this will damage anything more major or will I just get poor performance and poor fuel economy? Also any...

I received my tensioner kit but one of the installation locking pins has popped out. Will it be possible to press it in again? It needs to be pressed in and turned at the same time. I would rather try sorting it out than waiting for a replacement - See attached photo.

Onwards and upwards....., we had hoped to finish installing the Alfetta head today but couldn't join the cam chain because the tensioner wouldn't slide any further in to its hole, we used as much force as we dared but it felt like it was coming up against a stop, it moves in and out quite freely...

I have ordered a timing chain kit and oil pump for the brera, on the advice of others, I am going to remove the engine. Whilst the engine is out, what else should I replace. Will do a clutch and water pump as well but are there any seals that are known to give problems, Subframe is OK but will...

Right, the time has come to replace my timing chains on my brera as she misfires alot now and the error code is showing, along with a nice rythmitic sound from the engine. I will try to do this with engine in situ so any help, advice and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Im OK twiddling...

My idle fluctuates constantly and I can feel that the car misfires sometimes on idle. When I'm driving it feels good and drives normal. Checked the car in MES and I had a p0011 which is the exhaust solenoid. I changed both solenoids and nothing changed, it idles bad and the p0011 came back after...

I’ve been helping a friend with his Spider. It’s got a bit of a chequered past... trying to get it to run a bit better. What engine earth straps should there be on an ‘84 Spider LHD? Where should I find them? I’ve had a look from above, but can’t see any. Also, the timing chain is rattling...

Hi, I have got the EML on my 2006 Brera 2.2, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a garage around Blackburn area that will be able to change the timing chain at a reasonable cost? I have had the light on for around 6 months and the engine seems to be running fine? Thanks

Does the 2.0 JTDM Giulietta have a belt or chain? If belt, what is the interval?

Hi everyone, Currently removing cylinder heads on a 159 v6 due to oil starvation at the top end. Removed left bank cylinder head and found it was bone dry! Then found that the phaser pulley has cracked and a large chunk was blocking the oil ways. So removed the object and replaced the pulley...

Ok guys, I'm trying to tackle this. Car (159 2.2jts) is booked in for worst case scenario (chain replacement) with an Alfa specialist ahead of time, but I've also had this car with a few people, none of which can definitively tell me if it's the chain issue. Searching the codes here doesn't...

Hi all, new to the forum and seeking your wisdom. I currently drive a 07 Brera 2.2 which I have loved but looking at a potential change to an 08 Prodrive edition - was timing chain stretch still an issue at that point or had it been cured at manufacture stage by then? (was it ever cured?!) Any...

Dear all, I know this has been discussed a lot. I have been getting the P0016 error code (along with some others) for 4-5 years now, and the CEL is constantly on. Sometimes if i reset the Error codes the errors go away but then they come back again. As my car had like 30k miles when the light...
