After changing the shells on the JTS, the engine purrs nicely while on the move, smooth and good power, however when holding revs around 2000 to 3000 while stationary it sounds a little too rattly... the solution would be engine out, rebuild and get the crank ground. However, going to all this...

Morning Alfisti. Have the V6 owners among us ever found a supplier for the small retaining clips that secure the engine loom connectors to the coil packs? They don’t seem to be a standard thing which I suppose isn’t surprising... Thanks 👍
I've got a leak which looks like it's coming from around the camshaft area of the front bank of my GT's V6.
Any ideas what it could be and more importantly, how much it's likely to break my bank?
There's no "Mayo" residue build up on the oil filler cap which makes me think (hope) it's...
Today I checked the timing on my Busso 3.0. The results looked pretty bad - interested to know what others think.
It's in a recently-acquired GTV that has not run for several years; the guy I bought it from was in the trade and mentioned his mechanic had changed the cambelt at some point. The...
I have a spare Alfa Romeo 2.5 V6 12V 'Busso' engine that I'd like to sell.
It was taken from a 155 so would be suitable for dropping into another 155 or perhaps a 164. Alternatively they make great transplant engines, and can be modified for RWD use.
I bought it several years ago for (another)...
I'm trying to raise some cash to replace my cylinder heads and clear some space for dismantling my pair of transaxles, so I'm selling off the parts left over from my 3.0 12v rebuild and experiments:
GTV-6 / 75 2.5 12v stuff:
2.5 12v Busso pistons - really good condition
2.5 12v Busso flywheel...
Just received a barn find GTV with a CF2 3.0 motor and 130k on the clock.
Before trying to start it, I removed the cam covers on both banks to inspect the cams, add some oil, and run a compression test... which revealed no compression at all on cylinders 1 and 6, with normal pressure on the...
I'm still doing my 3.0 v6 build (not much spare time to do it in) so bought a complete 12v 2.5 v6 (engine number matches the gtv6 type) to take the ancillaries off.
Once I'd dropped the heads I discovered it was as rusty / gunky as you'd expect a GTV engine which has been standing for years to...
I know most folks get their knickers in an excited twist over the near F1-like bark the V6 makes, and while I agree with them, I think the V6’s more gentle and often over looked more gentle purrs should be applauded, too.
Just reading about the task of changing the cambelt on the busso engine, i'm not put off by the job, seems simple enough just long winded, but the amount of tools needed is offsetting the savings versus just sending it into a specialist.
Seems i need at least a 42mm socket, a dti, the...
I think i have an oil leak from a cam cover gasket on my 2005 3.2 V6 Busso, i can't quite tell as there is oil tracking all over the place, but i think its from the front cam cover.
Are there any gotchas in replacing the cam cover gasket, or is it straight forward?
Anyone know the part...
Another day, another speculative Ebay purchase. I found a cheap 916 gtv Busso block on Ebay, minus it's sump, conrods, crankshaft, liners, etc. The chrome trumpets looked in pretty good condition (except for one small dent) and I thought I could do a quick comparison between the 12v and 24v...
If it isn't clear enough it sounds like a metallic rattle coming from around the cambelt area.
It's not the tappets (they are tapping which may be slightly evident).
Its a very obvious metallic bearing type of rattle.
