  1. Another boring thread about engine oil for V6

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
For many years I was using 10W40 for my TS, I did 90kkm, no problem at all, the engine is still at top condition. Since I bought V6 Spider I started investigating... Alfa Romeo recommends two viscosity classifications for V6: semi-synthetic 10W40 and full-synthetic 10W60... but wait... these...
  2. Boring Battery Question

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Can anyone absolutely confirm that an 019 spec battery L=353mm W=175 H=190 will fit in an 07 plate 2.4 battery tray? I know width and height are to spec but will the 353mm length cause a big problem? I really don't want this post drifting to the best battery you can buy or recommended types...
  3. The thread of dull websites

    Way Off Topic
As per the title, I found the dull website below whilst doing some research for w**k and thought I would share the joy with you! http://www.yotta.co.uk/software/march-pms/ The challenge is, who can trump this?
  4. What is this boring mystery car?

    General Motoring Discussion
On another site I use, we have a game of figure out the location from a Google Street View image. This one happens to be in Bern, Switzerland - that bit's done. However it features a slice of a ghost car caught mid-shot and I wondered what it is. I figured Kia, Hyundai, maybe SEAT, but can't...

  6. Boring Oil Thread

    Alfa GTA
Apologies for starting another boring oil thread, but there is so many different threads but none which answer my question. I am currently running valvoline vr1 10-60, My oil is as black as the ace of spades after just 2k (I have a 25k gap in the history) so i'm going to flush it and refill...
  7. Historic Racing boring?

    South Africa
I have been a motor racing fan ever since I can remember and the last decade or so I have enjoyed historic racing most. However, lately I have become increasingly bored by the same old stuff I have been watching at Zwartkops and Kyalami for the last 20 years. So, I just cannot convince myself...
  8. boring oil question

    Alfa 164 & 166
Ok with 108,000 on my 24v should I continue to use 10w40 semi synthetic or should I be using a different grade ie:- 5w40 fully synthetic or something else entirely? What is going to protect the engine at cold start and in stop start traffic the best ?

  10. Alfa, boring it will never be !

    South Africa
So I have had my GT up for sale for the last year (yes a year), finally someone calls - Alfisti to boot. After various test drives and visiting an Alfa expert to give the car a good once over we arrive back at his house. Buyer seems very impressed with the car. We all stand around admiring the...
  11. The same old boring gtv v6 exhaust question...

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
....but I'd like to know; will I get a better exhaust note if I just change the middle box for a straight through pipe (hence saving £'s). Or do change the end box for un silenced? Or should I just get a cybox system? I'd like a better sound but not too loud. Thanks. Ps I've read the 100's of...
  12. Sorry for this boring question.

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Sorry, but it's wheel alignment again. Can anyone recommend a tyre centre in Derbyshire, or just over the border in Notts or Staffs, that knows how to set up the front wheel alignment on a Brera? I realise I can go to my local one and ask them to set things to zero but I'd rather go to...
  13. Are Spain really boring this Euros?

    Poll Room
I'll start the ball rolling... Spain are the new Greece... although hoping they don't win it like Greece did! Italy and Germany are both better to watch... Even England had more exciting times lol Ok, that may be starting to push it a bit.
  14. 159's boring engine note!

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
I have happily owned a 2.5 litre V6 156 Q-shift for the last couple of years. Having now clocked up 125,000 ks on the old girl, it was time to upgrade. The 156 has a wonderful engine growl and to be honest this was one of the reasons i bought it in the first place! I've always lusted after a...

I've read loads of posts on here and I'm almost convinced it's the syncros but thought I'd put it out here and see if anyone has come across this before? 1. At speed when...

    Alfa 33, Sud & Sprint
HI all, I have finally pulled down the 1.7 engine i bought for my sud, and the cylinders are pitted. I have searched and cant find oversized pistons. I have 2 1.5 engines and want to know if one can be bored to suit the 1.7 pistons. I can see that the crankshaft and journals and bigends are the...
