Its a bit premature since I haven't even picked my 156 GTA up yet (and probably won't for a couple of weeks), but I know I'm going to have to look into why it's got an eml light on, so three quick questions:
1) Which is the best diag tool to use on a GTA? I've used multidiag and Alfadiag in the...
T- Spark 2.0L have balance shafts and all the extras that go with it, belt and tensioners etc.
If you were to carefully balance the pistons, rods etc from a 2.0L would you then need the balance shafts?
Basically what I am wondering is can you put 2.0L internals in a 1.6 / 1.8 block and dispose...
I want to replace the timing belt on my Alfa 147 from Nov ´03, the code of my engine is the 321.04.
The question is that i bought months ago the cam locking blocks and the suitable for my engine in the alfaworkshop website is the Laser 3629 (OEM 1 825 042 000) I emailed then and they...
Just wondering if there is anyone in Australia willing to hire me a set of cam blocks for 3.2 litre v6. My mechanic has only camblock set for 2.5 and 3 litre v6. And according to forum the 3.2 is different. Willing to cover postage both ways (as well as hire) of course.
Look forward to hearing...

Due to buying a new comprehensive Alfa/Fiat set, I have a few sets of Alfa Twin Spark cam locks for sale.
I have them on ebay and will do anyone from this forum a much better deal if you're interested. Lets say £20 each and £2.50 postage.
I am part way through a cam belt change on a 2.0l engine. I haven't yet taken the old belt off so cam timing has not yet been disturbed in any way.
I set tdc and located the cam locking blocks. The inlet one fits perfectly but the exhaust one is just slightly off as you can see in the...
... when you are spending abroad. (But you actually have the money.)
Annoying or good security?
I think it's a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut
and quite annoying/embarrassing.
3 cards went down on the last trip and I had to spend
quite a bit of time on the phone to get them unblocked...
I am one tooth out on the crank with the white lines that were on the Contitech belt I have.
If I correct this I cannot get TDC without pressuring the exhaust cam.
Do the lines have to match up to the marks on the pulleys?
My GTV is currently off the road as it needs a little attention before the MOT/NCT.
What I want to do it get up on blocks. I have axle stands (Aldi :( ) but do not trust them to hold the car for long periods of time e.g. 2 months.
Other than the jacking points per the manual can...

I always had a plan to put a 2,0TS into my car. Sharp, tuned, re-bulilt 2,0TS, not a standard one.
Now my friend is breaking a 156 1,8 TS and I can have his engine and gearbox almost for free (strong argument :) ). But I really want a 2,0litre (re-bored to 84mm) and I need to know if 1,8...
I am in the middle of changing my cambelt, but I cannot work out which camblock fits which camshaft. There is one where the cut out points upwars and the other points up and backwards. I know which bearing caps need to come off to bolt them on, but I can't remember which one goes on which cam...
Is it possible to convert an 1.4 TS (146) with just changing some parts, to an 1.6 TS ?
An engineer, friend of mine, told me that its the best solution for power increase with low cost.
Later you can reprogram again the 1.6 TS for maximum gain.
The main engine block on the models 1.4,1.6,1.8,2.0...
