Hi. Had a terrible squeak in the suspension department and was told that the anti-roll bars go on the Alfas and it's a big expensive job. It's an 05 car, a nice 156 and I want to keep it. Is it true that the anti-roll bars 'go' all the tiem on Alfas and should I pay the earth can anyone tell...

After changing out the drop links on the front anti roll bar i'm still getting a slight clunking noise especially on rough ground at low speeds. Recently replaced all front wishbones and now regretting having not replaced the arb bushes as discussed a good on lately on this forum. Wasnt...

Hello, has anybody changed the rear anti-roll bar bushes of an 156 year 2000? is it possible or you have to change the whole bar? I have already bought a pair of PU bushes for the front bar and 2 metal collars (22mm) and 4 metal collars (14mm) for the rear but can't find some PU bushes for...

I've got a full set of anti roll bars. What the heck are drop links? Cheers Stuart

I have replaced all the front suspension on my 156 Selespeed apart from the front anti-roll bar and it is much improved apart from slightly vague straightline steering. Would worn anti-roll bar bushes cause this?

Can anyone tell me, what ARB's does a 1.9JTD have? Are they the same as a 2.0 TS, 2.5V6, 2.4JTD, or what? Thanks! ;)

Hello there, has anyone fitted a Front Anti-Roll Bar to their 147? I spotted one here at Shop4Parts- Fiat Parts and Alfa Romeo Parts from Shop4Parts I'm sure I asked about this last year (and have only just rememberd about it!) and someone said there is one already fitted. Now either it's...

Hi all, I've just aquired a set of Eibach ARB's for my 2.0 16v wideboy, which my mate tells me are 'amazing', what I was wondering, has anyone got any tips to make fitting them easier ? From what I can remember, changing the front one will require dropping the crossmember, but I'm not to sure...

I'm after searching around here for a while trying to track down part numbers for anti-roll bar bushes and I see Alfa only sell the whole bar and bushes complete! :wow: So I went to local motor factors and they can get them from QH and have ordered me a pair for the rear Part numbers are...

Hi all, Just checking to see if this is a straightforward job to do at home and to see that nothing horrible will 'ping' out or go out of alignment when attempting to replace the front drop links for the anti-roll bar. Mine look a bit tired and there is some minor clonking when going over...

I've replaced the rear anti-roll bar bushes for £42.69 - somewhat less than the official Alfa way where you buy a complete anti-roll bar for £158.62 and probably have to get the rear alignment redone because the rear sub-frame is disturbed. I used : Superflex anti-roll bar bushes Pt. No...

Hi all, Nice to be back as I've had no internet for a while. I would like a bit of advice. I've been improving the way my 155 1747cc 16v handles. Bought some eibach springs and also some brembo discs with ferrodo Ds11 pads. Much better!!!! but now I want to look at antiroll bars. I don't know...

Just wanted to check if anyone here has replaced the rear anti-roll bar bushes. After looking at it it seems like I have to lower the rear subframe just to loosen the 4 nuts. Tried to loosen the nuts but all of my strength with an additional extension was not enough which probably means that...

I don't actually know if they are called anti-roll bars, but it's the thick chrome bars that sit behind each seat (as seen here 2001 51 Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 TS 16V Lusso 2dr on eBay, also, Alfa Romeo, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 20-Mar-08 06:26:47 GMT)) I LOVE that look, but I have a...

Hi all! Looks like I will need to change the single bush on my anti-roll bar for the MOT. EB spares sell the bush individually and say that you can do a simply swap - everyone else I have spoken to tell me that I have to buy the complete bar and change the lot. Apparently the bush is fixed...
  16. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Does anybody know how much "sideways" movement is normal on the 156 front anti-roll bar? I am getting a clonk somewhere down in the pedal area over potholes, although with the front completely raised off the ground, I am able to slide the anti-roll bar sideways (out towards the drivers side...

Quite surprised when I had the rear suspension bushes changed and they checked the car over, and told me that there is now play in the front anti-roll bar. Not bad, but an advise. What generally is the life of the roll bar and its bushes? my car has covered about 30k and is a late 2003...
