On the process of trying to start my 1.7 16V I turned the tune screw of the AFM.
I did not turn if 1 or 2 turns, but A LOT of turns and I tried both sides.
So now I dont know how to solve this...
I know by this site that if we turn the screw clockwise will rich mixture, if anti clockwise...
I posted on this topic on the .org, but a wealth of information is never a bad thing. Sorry if this is getting repetitive for those on the .org:cry:
so I may be needing a new AFM and lambda for my car, it is occasionally flashing the injector warning and lurching. I did the onboard...
I am experiencing poor performance when accelerating. Diagnostics does not report any errors. The car runs much better when I disconnect the AFM, which points to it being duff. I shall give it a clean before investing in a new one as they are not cheap. I am not sure whether to replace it with...

Hi all, hope you can help.
I've had a 1999 3.0 V6 GTV since July and a couple of weeks ago whilst driving, I hit the red line in 2nd gear. Straight away the injector warning light on the dash came on. It has stayed on since, even though the car is driving perfectly.
I took it to a local...
Wondering if anyone has any knowledge on the transferability of parts between the cloverleaf and super 164 models?
I have a 96 24v Super and the emmisions are through the roof. Already changed the lamda and plugs etc. most signs are pointing at the Vane type MAF being faulty...
did somebody order an AFM for GTV 3.0 24V (97) from these guys ? They sent me two which didn't work and now they have been delaying the refund for more than 2 months...
I just want to know if the parts are crap in general (looks like that) ?
Thanks - Martin
my injector light came on this morning, gggrrr!
Now there's hardly any power in the low down revs and it wasn't too clever higher up either.
So i'm thinking the obvious - AFM is capput.
I've never changed one myself so have a few questions ...
1. where is it ?
2. is it easy to change - is there...
figured after a bit of advice by man down the road have disconnected AFM and car bar idle runs great, the missing power is back and smooth as you like !
How do i make sure I get the right one and where is best place to get them? thanks all
I have a second hand AFM for sale which came off my 145,the reason for changing it was that my car had developed a lumpy idle which drove me crazy.thought it was the AFM so bought a new one, lumpy idle was still there, changed the lambda sensor and problem solved.
i have a '97 145,but I'm...
Just got my new 156, she got a few snags but all is good just wanted to test the 156 owners views..as follows
When AFM is attached drives really flat hard has large flat spots, disconnect AFM no problems high revering but struggles to idel...partly i think as it has a cone flilter ..so no...
has anyone done anything about the darn air flow meter on the 8v 1.7 ie?
what options do i have in regards to changing it for a better induction noise and if possible a slight performance increase?
I have just taken off my old air flow meter to fit the new one. However, I made the school boy error of not looking what way i took it off.
Should the arrow on the casing be facing up or down??
My v6 Spider has just gone through 83,000 miles and is still on it's original AFM. It seems to rev OK and seems to run and idle well.
Is it likely that my AFM is still 100% or would I be surprised if I stuck a new one in?
