Guys I need some help, my selespeed actuator has developed an oil leak. Does anyone know of an o-ring or seal kit for the 147 actuator? This look like its goiing to be an expensive exercise. :( Thanks

I have had a niggling erratic idling problem for a while now and have been told it may well be the Idle Actuator. The idle speed will suddenly drop to approximately 700 rpm as if it's about to stall then over compensate by revving to approximately 1300 rpm. Has anyone changed one of these...

A couple of weeks before I part Ex my 96 p plate cloverleaf, an annoying problem has reared it's head. I think the car knows it's going and has decided to give me grief  but anyway I digress. A couple of days ago, the clover hessitated under acceleration, injection light came on...

Well after doign the throttle butterfly thing with some carb cleaner, I got the usual erratic tickover. Couldn't get it to reset happily so as she's being serviced I am getting them to look at it. It turns out there's a problem with the idle actuator. . . so the question is, how much do we think...

Thought I'd have atinker the other night..... Revs at idle on the twinny have always had this annoying habit of rising and then dropping a fraction when you pull to a stop. Not a major issue but one that would be easy to sort......or so I thought! Undid the two torx bits, sprayed...

Read that some cars with auto transmission are using after market ATF cooler to cool their auto boxes. With the seals of the actuator known to give way after 60,000 km or so maybe cooling the actuator or the selespeed gearbox will reduce wear. Has anyone tried this? Comments anyone? Cheers

I noticed that there's a very small orifice on the actuator that sometime leaks a little oil, is it normal? What is the purpose of this orifice? Is it some kind of pressure relieve? The orifice (about 0.5mm diameter) is located above the "SELESPEED" at the back of the actuator, facing the...

Sorry to bring up the subject of idle actuators again, but on my '99 146ti... I took mine off after first removing the throttle body, opened it up to see if there was anything amiss that could be causing the erratic idle (900 down to 500rpm and the occasional stall), couldn't see any problems so...

I have the 155 BHP engine (I think) as it has the plastic cover. Does anyone know where the idle actuator is located? I have read in previous threads that it is on the left of the Throttle housing, but I think it is different on this model. If it is there then what does it look like as I...
