Cars and Coffee Cheshire
I've sort of happened across this event late last year and thought it would be of interest?
In Chester City Centre on 13/3 at 0745-1030 or so, interest from a couple of French car clubs & can't be having that can we?
My speedometer after a while doesn't give me a good reading, It usually sticks below 40 km/h while I'm going around 50-80 km/h.
It moves a bit up and down but that's it.
It works fine for a few minutes (sometimes not, it breaks right after start up) and then it's like that until I restart the...
I appear to have accidentally over inflated my tyres owing to a digital tyre inflater giving me the wrong readings.
I was wondering what was the most accurate way to gauge actual tyre pressure owing to the fact I can't trust the digital gauge any more.
Is there a particular product that people...
How accurate is your fuel gauge?
Last time I filled up, the gauge said empty. But the pump pistol clicked when I had put in only 59 liters. And the gauge doesn't say the tank is completely filled up. Maybe the pump pistol just shut off to early? Or my gauge isn't very accurate.
156 1.8 TS quite badly overheated at weekend didn't notice gauge, never done it before.
Reservoir was juddering loads of steam. Towed to garage that did a water coolant chemical test.
Alas the guy said it there were evidence of damage to the head gasket. Didn't chat for too long...
I just have a quick query about how accurate the speedometer is really..
I was driving through a 30 zone and one of those signs with a digital speed read out of your car flashed at me, not the ones that just say "30 slow down".. It said I was doing 31, so i slowed down a little so that my...
I drive a quite a few cars as I do a bit of work delivering cars from dealers to customers all over the UK.
I therefore use the old Sat Nav quite lot.
I find that most cars have a tolerance of about 5% at 70/80mph in terms of speedo reading v. sat nav reading.
The Alfa (fitted with standard...
I thought it was odd that the GPS in my Blackberry never matched the speed of the car speedo. When on cruise control at a speedo showing 70mph constant, the GPS would read 67mph.
Now I have read that the GPS will never be spot on, but found it odd that is consistently under judged the speed in...
I left home this morning with the fuel gauge showing 40 miles left, on the TRIP button, intending to refuel on my way to London. Due to unforseen circumstances, I had to divert and drive in horrendous traffic, snow, rain and so on. I started getting really worried about running out of fuel and...
Just wanted to know if your fuel gauge in the Alfa 166 is abit inconsistent. First of all you fill the car up with petrol and very quickly it drops to half a tank, then it slowes down quite alot and when the lights turns on it droppes even faster. I find this quite funny sometimes...
Had my GT a few weeks now and really enjoying it but noticed the temp reading for outside is miles out.
I reckon on average it's reading between 3 and 4C over what is actually is. Even when the car's been moving for a good while it's still way out.
Today at lunch it was reading 28C after a...
After my sele went off to have its selespeed pump replaced, I have noticed that the fuel guage has become more accurate. Previously, it'd do 160 odd miles on the first quarter of a tank of fuel (About £25 to refill) And then a further 170-200ish miles to red line empty.
Now it does 100 miles on...
Because if so my car is only doing 27.XX mpg and its a 1.6 which can't be right as I was just reading the Brera review in the AROC magazine and it's 3.2 V6 has a combined of summat like 25.
I recently fitted a straight through pipe from cat to a ragazzon back box, could this have somehting to...
Before the Alfa I ran a Golf 1.9TDi. This apparently returned about 50MPG if the computer was telling the truth, whereas on the Alfa, I am lucky to get it over 40MPG average.
I know the MJet is slightly down on the combined official figure, but I can't even get close this figure.
I do tend to...
