Hi Guys, I am the owner of a 1971 Alfa Romeo 1750 Gtv. The car was a daily driver till it picked up a starter issue last year. When i removed the starter (8 tooth), i had found that the starter nose had completely broken off (images attached) and almost fell into the flywheel well. I...

Hi gents (and ladies?) I've been a bit of a lurker here but have a lovely, original 1750GTV (series II) in addition to some other classic cars. The car has been very nicely restored about 20 years ago in the Eastern Cape by a very particular gentleman called Eugene Colesky and it won Concours...

Hi All, I've finally traced the leak in my breaking system to the righthand rear calliper. This has taken me ages because it's a tiny leak and only through leaving the car standing for 6 weeks did I at last find the evidence I was after: a couple of drips inside the rim of the wheel! I've now...

When I was out in the car last weekend I noticed a fuel leak when I pulled up, on further inspection it was found to be dripping off the bottom of the mechanical fuel pump. I hoped it was just a split hose, but having changed all the fuel pipes today, it is exactly the same, therefore I'm 99%...

I've been restoring my 1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV since before Christmas. She was my very first car, having acquired her in '79 through the death of a friend, and we've been through a lot together, including nearly 300k kms; she's LHD hence the metric units. She's been off-the-road since '93 due...

Hi I'm thinking about buying a classic GTV, particulary the 1750, which had no air con as standard. The question is simple: is it possible to retrofit the AC without modifying the dash? (i know the 2000GTV has air con but I'd like to keep the original dash). By the way, I have this type of...

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum but in the process of getting my 1971 1750GTV Mk II made into a GTAm lookee-like (I know, I know, the purists won't appreciate that as it's not a real one :tut:) and I want to restore the wiring harness by re-wrapping it, cutting out all the non-standard audio...

Ok, hands up, this is the question of a cretin. Despite owning my 1750 GTV for nearly 5 years, I have never refilled the screen was bag/reservoir. I've always found it perfectly refilled after the service. Maybe I don't take it out enough in really bad weather. So... Can anyone help me? How...

I have a 1750 GTV MK2 and with it comes new original springs and shockers. I intend to renew all the bushes with polythene but want to preserve the handling as I like a firm spring but a soft shocker so would like to fit these - having never driven it what should i do - no racing just country lanes!
