Hello, I've been offered an R-reg 145 1.8 in part ex against my facelift 145 Cloverleaf.
I know the owner, so not worried about the car being dodgy but just thought I'd see what people think as I'm unsure.

This bit has dropped off the 145. I think it is off the catalyst. It's like a heat shield or outer skin. It had corroded around the welds on one side and hung down. I pulled it off from the other side, so that side was obviously on its way out.
Is it OK to drive the car...
I'm getting a bit cheesed off now.
A few months ago, the 145 conked out and needed a new MAF. Prior to this, it occasionally wouldn't start when hot, and after a few minutes it would. We could never really pin down what was happening and after the new MAF was fitted, it seemed OK.
Driving in rain yesterday and today I decided that it wasn't torrential, but I needed a semi- intemittent wipe. On moving my wiper stalk to the intermittent position, nothing happened, again and again on moving it up and down, twiddling the speed ring back and forwards, then after awhile it...
