  1. Mysterious trim piece

    Alfa Giulietta
Loose bits and pieces found in cars are not always a part of the car, but a packer or carrier or something that should have been removed during fitting. So, if there's nothing obvious missing I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  2. 159 Temp Guage Fluctuating

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Don't want to scare you, but are those not classic symptoms of head gasket failure? I would get it checked ASAP.
  3. £16k for a Brera S 3.2 - HELP!

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
£500 on refurb work??? Given who is selling it (and speaking from bitter experience) £5 is probably nearer the mark. If you really like the car and can afford what you've agreed to pay then I would go ahead, buy it and enjoy it. It might have cost you a few grand more than buying a...
  4. Bit of advice please - GT licence plate

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Would be more appealing to someone whose initials are JTD I would think.
  5. 159 JTDm 1.9

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
All 159s have the phone button whether they have Bluetooth or not. (Alfa's little joke just to confuse you.) If you have it there will be a Bluetooth symbol on the infocentre.
  6. Locking wheel nuts - how important are they?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
All UK 159/Brera came with locking wheel bolts as standard fitted on import and the orange box is what they would have been supplied in with the standard box being used to hold the standard bolts when the car was sent to the dealer. Maybe the previous owner decided to remove and keep the locking...
  7. Windows going down....

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
A long press on the open button:tut:
  8. Stop beeping noise when locking & unlocking car

    Tuning & Upgrades
A simple remedy for occasional use is to pop the boot open immediately before opening the doors then you don't get the beep. Remember to close the boot after of course.
  9. Blackline Brochure

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Yes there was, they turn up on ebay now and then.
  10. Condensation / Mist Sensor

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
In the handbook (and I quote m'lud) it says that the anti mist is activated every time the car is started regardless of whether the aircon is on or not. It also says that you should keep the sensor clean or it won't work properly (but doesn't give any instructions on how to clean it)...
  11. First Alfa! Basic queries

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
The continuous high pitched beep means you've hit the wall no?
  12. Changing front wheel on Brera, 1 'odd bolt'

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Yes it's locking wheel nut! Have a good look round for the adaptor (it's not a key as such) before ordering a new one. Try obvious places people put the adaptor like glove box, ashtray, door bins, seat back pockets etc.
  13. 159 boot trim?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
It does look rough and unfinished but, yes, that's how they came.
  14. 159 exhaust sounds like its blowing

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
It does sound like its blowing when the DPF is regenerating, could it be that? Other than that the back box is double skin and on mine (and a couple of others I have read on here) the outer skin has separated making it noisy, although there is no actual hole. A stainless steel cable tie has...
  15. possible scam?

    General Alfa Discussion
AT ads with emails in a pic are generally scams. Sometimes they will also hack into the account of a genuine trade seller to give the impression they're real. If you ever see dodgy looking ads. on AT just report it and they will pull pretty quickly if its a scam:thumbs:
  16. Folding wing mirrors on a Ti, also Blue & me

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Electric mirrors standard on all UK 159s. Are you sure you are pressing the right button?
  17. too good to be true?

    Alfa Giulietta
A well known Autotrader scam - an email in a pic is a dead giveaway. Usually if someone reports it they pull straight away. If you see any more like that, give a wide berth.
  18. Changing Wheel Query - Hub Nut?

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
If it is fitted with the OEM 156 locking wheel nuts they may be of the oval/elliptical style- you need the locking wheel nut adaptor for this. A normal brace won't fit and may even strip them so the adaptor won't fit - be careful! There's nowt behind the centre cap. You can always pop it out...
  19. 1.8MPI tappet noise

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Might be a good idea to look on a Vauxhall/Opel forum:thumbs:
  20. Today's dumb 159 question

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
No question is dumb in the bizarre illogical world of Alfa specs! I think it became standard from the 2008 models. Before that it was an option - and it's often difficult to tell if a car has it or not just by looking at pics as the steering wheel buttons are the same whether it's there or not.
