Moving on . . .

Dear all;

As many of you will be aware i took over as Area rep simply because nobody wished to take it on, and it was about to close down. After a difficult start in which I was unfairly criticised by a select few in the early days, and the constant battle to get people on here to show any enthusiasm I feel its now time to concentrate on the social media side only.

Alfaowner and myself had a mutual agreement where we would give it until Easter and make a decision either way. Ive made it for them, im moving on to Alfabook side. . . I have asked to be unrepped by Easter Friday.

This will mean that the meetings at the Fountain and the new Adhoc meets will continue, i will still run The West Midlands but under the Alfabook West Mids banner which i find much more user friendly, and easier to keep in touch with people. . . .

Those that wish to carry on with us are most welcome, everything that has been planned will be carried on as normal. Most of you will be unaffected, but those of you that wish to be on this site only, now is your chance to step up.

Good Luck!

Thanks
Best Regards Alan.

Thanks for trying Alan

I'm very disheartened with the lack of enthusiasm for meets even when moving it around the area and trying something new.

I do believe it's a reflection on the whole site , folks only come for tech advice , find it from a search and go.

New alfaowners arn't fussed about meeting folks.

AO as a whole is slowly going down the pan.

Thanks for your effort and lets hope Alfabook side of it takes off .

For what its worth i think this is a very good site and agree with Paul totally its a wealth of information at your fingertips for problems on your car to be solved.

However, whether we like it or not, Social Media has taken over so fast weve hardly realised it. These forums are now antiquated and with lack of interest from members interacting, who are the lifeblood of any club it can only end one way. . .

People have very fast, very busy lives these days with so many other distractions its easy to forget the basics.

Anyway, see you all at The Fountain April 6th where the meets will continue as normal. We are not closing down, just moving on and trying to make progress!

Thanks for your efforts.

Albeit to highlight part of the apathy is probably down to the time of the year.

The mid week meets at The Fountain have been in the dark and sometimes wet and cold.

You may find the forthcoming months more fruitful as people bring their cars out of winter hibernation.

Will there still be details of the west mids meets on here?

I'm in west midlands, but work hours mean I can't always make a meet mid-week, but I do keep an eye on things just incase!

Sad to hear no WM reps on here now, if people want I am willing to take on keeping at least something on here active for people.
Alfa book may well take over but at least we can maintain a link here

It would be nice to hear what you think about becoming a Rep. We are keen to reinvigorate all the areas and to keep WM active would be excellent news. Either Post in here or drop me a PM if you want to go for it.
