12months on..

..from joining AO prior to getting my Alfa and it is time to say Cheerio!

Met some great people, appears for some reason that I have pi55ed some off as well, no idea how but I haven't got time for small minded idiots who need to grow up.

Thanks for all the banter, meets etc but due to a number of factors it seems unlikey i'll be around much now.

Stay safe and enjoy yourself

John

John, may we both say just what a pleasure it has been to meet and know you, so sorry you're leaving and sadly we will not get to see the 7, thanks for the Aston beauty anyway.

All the very best to you, The Shuskies

John, sorry to hear you are leaving us. It was good to have met you at the WM meet, and was nice to see the Aston too.
Is there nothing that will make you reconsider?

I'll be the only G in the (Clent) village now

Wave

Thanks for all the kind comments

Just a quick post to give a bit of additional detail and then i'm off again

Over the last 2-3 months I receoved some emails stating I wasn't welcome in a non-Alfa and shouldn't be "showing off" on-line and at events/meetings. I just ignored these and deleted them.

Last week was a different matter, I received several emails with some "interesting content"

I was left with no choice other than to delete my account very rapidly as I had to prevent the issue from being escalated which may have resulted in some re-percussions for me. Everything is fine by the way

I don't want to say whether I know who is or isn't behind this "attack" or whether it was from somebody on AO.
I'd prefer to leave them wondering whether through my network of friends and IT boffins we have been able to trace the source.

I hope you can understand my slightly guarded response.

AO is a great community, met some fabulous people, made some good friends and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time on here. It just seems I was probably in the wrong place at the wrong time

In the meantime, enjoy your Alfa's, I'll keep on enjoying my cars and I'm sure our paths will cross again

Bye for now!

That's a very sad story John ... I hope you and your IT Aces manage to resolve the situation, and that you may eventually return to AO.

Yeah! What TT said. Draw the snipers out and eradicate them point blank! Or are they in the provenance of AO's upper echelons?

That's not on at all

Just because someone has a couple of nice cars that are not Alfa's, but likes to use them to attend meets and shows etc where they can socialise with other car enthusiasts, shouldnt be a reason for discrimination / abuse.

I hope you are able to trace the attacker and get them removed from AO.

Hope our paths will cross in the future, All the best if we don't.

This site is called alfaowner and as long as you own an alfa you can turn up in what the hell you like .

I think for the next meet we should all turn up in a non alfa
