Miserable West Mids Alfa drivers!

Now I'm not one to cast a sweeping statement across a whole swathe of people generally, but, all the Alfa drivers I see on a regular basis are a right miserable bunch!!

Maybe because it is first thing in the morning, maybe because I am waving and smiling just a little too much.....who knows.

This morning I passed and waved at :

Black 147 facelift on the Aston Expressway
Blue 147 facelift on the Aston Waterlinks
Black 159 Ti on the Warwick Road
Red 147 Face lift in Tyseley

Not so much as a raised hand. I am officially giving up waving and acknowledging other Alfa owners, until tomorrow of course!

Moved over to the dark side

And loving it

Maybe you are experiencing the thoughtful type of Alfa drivers? : Or they wonder about you?

Am I right in thinking there is another alfa forum out there.... AROC?

Im not stereotyping here, but the type of drivers i'm seeing around Wolves are.... ones with grey hairs and suits.

Rarely get anything back

Maybe it is because I am still testing the amazing handling of the GT these other owners think I have maybe nicked it??

To be fair, I am the greying suit wearing person as well, on the way to and from work that is.

I tend not to wave at the female Alfa driver, may seem inappropriate in some way. But the majority of the blokes are a right bunch....Have had one wave back in 2 years in this area.
When I had the Saab, got 2/3 a day. But then the Saab driver is a very different kettle of fish altogether....

I've given up waving

I will still wave back though If the other person initiates proceedings

Some of the waving that I have had is truly shocking, Nescafe beans wave, waving with their middle finger, what happened to a nice friendly wave?

'tis true... er hang on, I have 'natural distinguished highlights' and wear a suit to work ...

I share your thoughts though, very few waves lately, just a lot of vacant looks and 'why is that geezer waving at me? do I know him....' type stares.

probably 99% of GTV/Spiders wave. It's 159 and Brera drivers that don't (as you say, mostly grey hair and suits)

Typical example on the way home tonight, I was in the car, window down, sun out, music on, enjoying the end of work. Just crossing over the Warwick Road junction of Fox Hollies Road when I passed a bright blue GT Cloverleaf coming the other way. I stuck my hand up in a friendly wave, gave him a smile.........he looked back at me as though I had just cacked on his bonnet! Grrrr..........get a sense of community ya misery!

(Rant over)

Maybe he was miffed cos my GT was considerably cleaner and shinier than his!

Only joking I always try (unless I don't think I'll get a wave)

But the sunnier it gets the more I wave

A red one?

Seen two days in a row at same time. Just blanks.

Maybe if we all wave he might get the hint.

TBH my GTA is super shiny at the mo and I don't think he even looked

Git.

It's not just Alfa drivers who are miserable. I only seem to get waves off Mk1 owners in the MX5.

WhenI owned (several) minis, it was very rare for someone NOT to wave.
I know camper (VW) vans have their wave, but can't really think of another marque that does (or not it seems more and more )

That, or they're all miserable buggers round by you!
Get the odd wave/nod/smile down here (Cheltenham) but it does seem to be the 159's that look blank more than anyone else.
Perhaps they're too engrossed on listening for the next rattle/noise?
Keep waving people! .... summers almost here!
