Madness NIP in the air

I've received an NIP for careless driving, fail to stop and fail to report a road traffic collision in Norwich on 25th August.

It appears that either someone's short-sighted or my car's been cloned though, my car was in SimplyAlfas for a service that day then you all saw it at the last meet. Should be easy enough to clear my good name

Fingers crossed.
You are counting on someone with an ounce of common sense which dose'nt allways happen.

Happened to my ex. It's really a horrible feeling...

I just pulled together all the receipts from the day and wrote a statement declaring that he wasn't anywhere near the accident site and sent it off.
So get a copy of your SA receipt, detail where you were during the day, and if you have receipts for anything else you purchased that are timed copy those to. Sorted

It took a while but he eventually got a letter back saying "thank you for the comprehensive information, you have been removed from our investigations"

Thanks, receipt and statement on their way already. Feeling better now knowing that these things can be stopped.
Cheers,
Simon

Me too, if they think my plate's been cloned then they'll put it on the ANPR system and probably pick them up quite quickly. Unfortunately I'll keep getting pulled too, a small price to pay though.

Norfolk Police just called to let me know that they are 'absolutely satisfied' that it wasn't me and think the victim got the number wrong; he described the car as a large saloon like a Vectra, hard to mistake for a Sportwagon
Phew!

Glad its cleared up, but really they ought to do a little bit of detective work and find out if they have the correct details before issuing NIP's
