My first SimplyAlfa conversation...

After a few knee weakening chats with other brake fitting companies, I have ended booking my 159 in with John at SimplyAlfa on Friday.
The discs are well lipped and the pads down way low, so rather than leaving it until the pad worn message comes up, thought I would get them done.

Guests in Solihull wanted 456! Kwik Fit wanted 355! WAD and SA were almost exactly the saem at 232 all in. As SA is closer on the way home for me, I booked it in.

John was very friendly and knowledgable, as you would hope a specialist would be!

As the car is at 68K we discussed the upcoming 72K service, including, gulp, campbelt. Glad I was sat down. Don't think I will be asking Guests what their price is.
Better get saving!

Fingers crossed all will be well on Friday.

Oh, and I have gone to him not purely due to price, also on all of your recommendations, so cheers!

Moved over to the dark side

And loving it

What makes you think that it shouldn't?

On the 147/156/GT models the timing gear change for JTDs is 72,000 miles or 5 years, which ever comes first. Since it's the same running gear on the 159s it should be the same service interval as well.

Make sure you get the waterpump changed at the same time as well.

The 159 service schedule states 90K, but who is really in their right mind going to leave it until then??? Not me for sure. John states that the 156 schedule is 72K and they are sticking with that for all 1.9jtdms. Makes sense to me.
We already had the chat about the water pump, he was sat in a fellow AO members 55 plate 147 jtdm that had chewed a water pump at 60K. Ohhps. For the sake of a few extra quid, daft not to.

Cheers all, glad it is in safe hands.

That was my motor

I'd get it done when they say. Would have had it done at 60 but had to get 4 new alloys

Thats weird, I have been looking at new 18 inch alloys for my 159 as well!! But the 72K service is going to dramatically drain the car fund, otherwise known as the credit card.
So back to saving!
Oh well, better to be safe than sorry.
Are you having a cam belt at the same time tomfromtelford?
