Alfa 159 auto gearbox

Hello fellow Alfa-nuts!

I'm the proud owner of an new Alfa 159 (3.2 q4). Loving the car and how people just stare at it, completely mesmerized with its gorgeous shape!

I do have a question though - is it normal for the auto gearbox to feel clunky at low gears? While driving in stop-start traffic, the gears literally thud into place! I asked a mechanic at Gargash and he told me it was normal for the car to be that way - although I wasn't entirely convinced. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Cheers!

Also - do any Alfa owners meet up in Dubai anymore?

Hey Zac,
Congrats on the new purchase... unfortunatley for me Gargash rather had me go to VW than cut me a good deal. So for now i am sticking to the GTA. Can't really comment on the 159 gear change but even if it thuds into gear, it is a beautiful car to own :-)

Now that the weather is getting better we should make some arrangements for small meeting

I'd love to meet like minded Alfa-nuts! Add a shisha into the equation and you'll get a very happy man indeed!

I would ask them to reflash the gearbox ecu software, then see if that helps...

thanks for the info stephen - hopefully it'll sort out some of the gear issues. I do feel that it takes too long to get into gear at lower speeds - its almost like the gearbox gets stupid when your foot isnt on the floor.

Let me know when you Alfisi are available for a gathering. I'd love to see the cars as well!
