Attention all Alfisti in the UAE...

Take 2 as Mo says.....

After the rain that literally killed our last event, we are now proposing Friday 1 May 2009, for the mountain drive from Dubai to Fujairah, through Kalba, and back to Dubai, the other way through Masafi.

Please let us know if you're available. Flyers are being made up now and will be dropped off at Gargash in Sheikh Zayed Road and the Abdulla Ahli Garage in Al Qusais for distribution..

Your support in this first of many events to come will be greatly appreciated..

All photos will be uploaded onto the AO events gallery... bring along friends and family... the more the merrier i guess..

I propose we all meet at Gargash at at 09H00 - 09H30, we can then get to know each other, and agree on the proposed route, (I propose through Kalba, very scenic), then we can leave at 10H00 from Gargash and head for Fujairah...

There is a 147 GTA around my place. I stopped the guy and took his email and number but lost the piece of paper. I'll go hunt him down again today

First of all, welcome to the forum...

Yes, there are options...

1. Gargash Motors - The only Alfa Romeo Dealers in the UAE (04) 340 3333 - Speak to Gavin, the Service Manager.
2. Abdulla Ahli Garage - The best independent Alfa Service Centre in the UAE (04) 267 8586 - Speak to Hussein, the Owner.

There are a few other service centres now in Sharjah, and i am working on getting the contact details, which i will then post on the forum.

Looking forward to seeing you on April 4..

Re: Alfa Mountain Drive

Many thanks Stephen for the info. Basically my car is almost new, despite it is 2003 but it was just 47000 KM and i have bought it in January. it is 2.0 Selespeed 156. but i trust i have to follow up with its service as i didn't make it before.

However i started to be convinced that I'm driving a car with a great history.

Steve, by the way I have found a garage who is serving all the European cars including Alfa. They are called ZF Auto Service – Sharjah. You can call 0508360093 – 0509426017

Re: Alfa Mountain Drive

Yeah bro... it's all set, the 1750 should be ready for the run,... i'm really looking forward to it, working on the exhaust, the heater, wiper motors today, the rest is all done...

Carb tune + fixed carb mounts, Plugs, Distributor, Points, Condenser, gearbox, clutch, gear mounts, new gearbox oil, diff oil, diff rubber donut bearing, new front shocks, new front brake pads, greased all bushes (ones with nipples)... so yeah, i can say, i'm almost there... he even fixed the hinges on the door, one was shot and door wasnt closing properly...

fitting new tyres on Thursday evening too...

Hussein should be all done by Wednesday this week.

Man that's allot of work. I changed my cambelt and all fluids in the GTA (Break, engine, Gearbox, powersteering, selspeed). That should do the trick for this weekend for me.

I charged my cam battery already. What happened to the flyers? We should get Kamran and co to RSVP on here too to know how many people are coming exactly.

Can we find anything this side of town? I've already begged Hussein to open one in Jebel Ali (next to my house if possible ).

Re: Alfa Mountain Drive

You know, i was suffering to reach Hussain's garage as i don't know al qusais well. but finally i reached there and changed the oil filter..... Gush

by the way i started to prefer hussain than Gargash as i trust he is a good guy with less expenses. Anyway i will prepare my self to catch you on the way to Fugeirah as i'm living in Ajman a couple of days till i find a good place in Dubai.

I think it will be warm but it should be nice and sunny. Make sure you wash your car

Agree totally. I went there and got some bits to fix my car from Hussein today. My prob is the distance. If i have to leave the car there it costs me AED 200 in taxis going back and forth + crazy traffic.

Looking forward to it.

I think it was sold to Gargash - I saw a beaut 147GTA in there today and think it was this one. Owner was caught between rock & hard place and had to get out of the country. Very tidy machine

Also saw a stunning 3.0V6 Ti 166 (facelift) on Sheikh Zayed this morning - Xenons and the lot.
