Need Advice On New Cams

Hi People

Ive got my new cams but there maybe a problem but i dont want to contact newmans and sound silly if its not a problem.

Just incase some dont know the engine is a 3.0 24v with a retro fit turbo.

I spoke to Newmans and told them what i had and could i get a re-profile thats suited for me.

I thought i was getting ..Duration 260 . Lift Inlet 9.95 / Ex 9.39
But after having a measure it seems ive got .. Duration 264 . Lift Inlet 9.80 / Ex 9.80 (After a re-measure could be Inlet 9.9 / Ex 9.9)

Do you think they have done this for my application so its better for a turbo or do you think its a mistake ?

Any Advice please

Thanks

All spares parts for 156 and 147 being sold that i will not be using (cheap) nothing too small ask what you want , willing to post world wide Phone 07922123242 Ask for Neil and say Mark said to phone .

I am not a cam expert but I don't think I would worry about the lift or duration change.

To me extra duration od 4 degrees doesn't sound massive.

The lost lift on the inlet is only 0.15mm (6 thousands of an inch.) The extra lift on the exhaust at 0.41mm is a bit more (16 thousands of an inch) but probably not an issue.

Get your feeler gauges out and see just how little this is.

Hiya

Thanks for the reply and yes i hear what your saying and it does make sense , But was a little worried getting something i didn't order . I have sent them a message because the other problem is will the timing be the same as the set i thought i was getting .

Thanks again for the reply it has eased my worry a bit , you never know maybe this set up ive got will be better then the other

Just to add even though they said it was 264 Duration it must be 260 as im sure the timing deg will be either 109/109 or 110/110 so that will be either 21-59 timing or 20-60 , so 20+60 or 21+59 + 180 = 260

I got my answer from newmans. As i thought but i didnt expect they thought about my application and made the exhaust lift bigger because having a turbo and help get the gasses out faster. and as i will be using it for the road as well as track they kept it to 264 duration as i asked for a stable idle.

so i thank them for thinking about it
