Alfa 166 prefacelift 210HP engine fit

Hi,

I'd like to ask if someone knows if the latest 2.4 JTDm engines fit in the old 166 2.4 with currently 103KW engine.
I would like to get a 210 or 214 HP engine from a Brera or Spider with turbo and ECU... and put it in the 166. Also does the current 6 gear gearbox fit on this engine or does it have to be replaced.
The exhaust and other small things don't bother me just the engine mount etc...

Thanks

No... everything is different, gearbox is different, driveshafts are different, engine mounts are different ...

In other words, forget about it.

This is much more a stab than true info:

The latter 166 2.4 came in 20V and AFAIK the same block has been used in the Brera. So some similarities do exist. For instance the bolt pattern for the gearbox might be the same, thus you could fit your old box, thus old shafts, etc. Engine mounts at the bottom should be similar, at the top brace then needs to be renewed for the wider head.

That said, the 10V gearbox will most probably not be able to handle all the torque of the 20V (especially if you are hunting power), but if you HAVE to do it, anything is possible...

Thanks for the replays. Actually I wanted to buy the gearbox and the engine from her. Its just hard to find a schematics to prepare before and plan everything. So if someone could help me in any way.....I really appreciate it.
