After a remap, smoke

Hi there,

With a remap, dpf delete and closing off the EGR on a 2.4D 159, how much smoke should one expect? I thought that on acceleration and/or sudden increases in throttle pressure, you would see a puff of smoke. Some persons behind you would think there is a problem with the rings or go tsk tsk for the environment.

Besides the Rhino additive that one can not obtain in Australia, is there something else that can be done to minimize the smoke?

thanks in advance

Puff of smoke when you accelerate hard is "OK". But it should not smoke "non-stop" just a puff when you boot it.

If you see smoke behind you through whole RPM range, then there is either something wrong with the remap, or the engine itself (clogged intake, broken swirl valves, leaking air pipes or faulty injectors).
