bigger wheels to create extra clear ce

Hi all
I have recently become the owner of a
159 Q4 2.4l JTDm s/w
As you may be aware as I now am they are terrible for bottoming out destroying parts under the car.
Now this may sound stupid I'm not really one for bigger wheels but already on 17" 235/45 I'm wondering If I put a set of 19" on just to gain some extra clearance (I know it's not much but some is better then none)
I'm aware 19" go on fine but what is the biggest profile tyre I can put on comfortably without causing any rubbing in the arches or steering or full lock???
Your input would be much appreciated
Thanks all

look at a 225/50 r17 for bigger without rubbing.

The correct 17" size for a 159 is 225/50R17, which is larger in diameter than your current 235/45R17.

The 18" 235/45R18 and the 19" 235/40R19 are even larger in diameter.

A 235/50R17 would be close to (but not over) the diameter of the std 19" size.

If you do go for 18" or 19", check tyre prices before you dive in as they can be considerably higher than 17".

I had the 225/50/17 on originally but as they was running a little thin I had the 235/45/17 tyres around so had them fitted.the difference in diameter is miniscule.

When I was down at autolusso the mechanics down there said 19" go on fine but need to know how big a profile tyre I can go before it rubs in arches or when steering (full lock ect).
