159 / Brera 3.2 V6 Q4 Turbo itch

I can't help wondering if anybody has fitted the Saab 9-3 / Vauxhall VXR V6 Turbo system onto the 3.2 Alfa Alloytec(ish) engine. It looks to be a relatively straightforward conversion mechanically and with the availability of DIY remapping it could be viable. These cars could easily handle an extra 50+ bhp and it would really awaken them - this could be a possible route, or is it a dead end?
Parts can be had for peanuts nowadays.

Personally I'd go down the supercharger route if I were you.

Huge bucks compared to off the shelf Vauxhall parts and for less potential gain. They also don't get particularly good reviews.

In theory should be fairly straightforward to bolt on but to have something driveable may be more complicated.

Some good reading here.

Log style vs tubular style | Turbobygarrett

You would most probably need to change injectors, fuel pump, manifolds, exhaust. supercharging seems to be the most popular for this engine. Search on Alloytech as the oz cousins have a lot of experience with this it seems.

I would also be careful about the gearbox, The revs are already limited in first.

If you go ahead let us know how you get on.

i used a Subaru wrx g20 turbo and just made the induction. all fairly easy if you take your time i think the most annoying part was making the exhaust. although mines a 156
