Good news for tuners and customers

DMS automotive in Southampton have managed to crack the new breed of ECU's (currently fitted in BMW and other brands). Many people have said it would never be possible, if not a long way off.

You might wonder why Im posting this, but I think its important to anyone who likes to tune/remap their cars. If all manufactures started fitting these ECU's and no one could map them, car tuning would be a little boring with only piggyback ECU's.

What will be interesting is when I take my car to them in Feb and compare the dyno results of the map vs the TMC box.

For those that dont know, DMS are highly sort of and work on mainly high end cars.

Previous, Mito QV, GQV

Current- BMW M135

So they manage to buy the CMD protocol for the BMW Fxx... Well I am also waiting for CMD to release the protocol.

The ECUs are the "same" as in other manufactures but are using "different type" of password protection...which you need in order to read/write the ECU.

Anyways...you should be much happier with the remap then the box.

I think what they are doing is removing the ecu and writting the map that way, not through the OBD port.

Takes 3 days, costs £1200....
