fitting a thatcham 1 alarm

I want to add a Thatcham category 1 alarm to my Gtv, it wasn't fitted with one from new so I think the addition of one is beneficial. I have bought a toad alarm with keyless entry and either window close or boot open functions. Before I dive in and start routing cables, sensors and seeking points for connection, is there anything I should be on the look out for, any hazards, best location for the silver box etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

no ideas as of yet but would be interested in a guide except where you decide to hide the silver box... though i would say in the last place you think off and it should be difficult to reach easily..

plus are wires should be soldered and finished with heat shrink .. are they all black..
