16v JTD - Straight through Vs. Silenced Exhaust

Ive got the intake side sorted, (FMIC/Cone Filter) and ive got both Cat's out...

just wondering if a straight through would be more beneficial than a silenced system?

that being the case, where would i be able to find one? or does anyone have one that they want to part with? Catback-ish.

ta!

Depends what you want to do? keep the original turbo, go for a max power setup or something else

I had one silencer at the back and a decat on my custom system. It wasn't loud

Ideally I'd like to keep the same turbo for now, in the future, who knows!

Would just a tailpipe attached to the main pipe be much different?

If you have a 16v then I would definitely use 1 silencer or maybe 2 small ones. One in place of the cat and one at the end would be my choice. I had a straight through system on a previous 1.9 16v, no cats & no silencers, and it wasn't horrific but it was pretty loud and sounded awful. No nice exhaust note, just drone at revs and clatter at idle like it didn't have an exhaust fitted at all.

On a 10v you have a bit more flexibility, I'll hold judgement until hearing one with a straight through exhaust but my previous 10v I had a decat pipe and a silencer half the size of the standard rear box fitted and it sounded great, with only a little drone at about 2,000 revs when under load in the higher gears.
