MiTo 155 TB Tuning

Hi everyone I've got a few questions I've been searching for on here and can't find anything exact so thought I'd air them on a new thread I've got a 155 Veloce and looking at a few mods but wondered if anyone has any reccomendations as to brands or what to get. 1st is air filters looking at a new filter or induction kit now from what I've seen K&N 57i are most common I like BMC CDA but they're abit pricey and not sure it's worth it or even whether I should get a panel filter instead. Secondly is a dump valve/blow off valve I know nothing about it so if anyone has fitted one could any help ? Any advice would be appreciated

Mate who's a mechanic & Alfa owner reckons panel filter on turbo cars due to heat soak with K&N 57i type

is the 155 a MA or tjet? Tjets dont suffer too badly as there is no MAF on the car. the Tjet is also allot more fun to mod

The Mito 155 is a T-Jet engine.

Yeah it's a TJet I'm just wondering about filter and dump valve info ? Is anyone recommends any in particular because I'm not very technically minded so after something that's going to make it sound nicer really

Don't bother with a Dv. It adds nothing. Start with a filter then maybe a chip.

It's just the lift off turbo noise I want, I know it won't give any performance gains. What filter would you say ? Induction - K&N v BMC or Panel ??

I had both. I know on the ma and 1750 you get a loss with a cone but on the tjet it feels like there is a gain. There is no MAF on the tjet if u do a 57i you will not need a modded dv. Trust me. If you really want you can look at gazzelle racing

So basically the 57i can connect to the existing induction piping ? Only I've heard if the cone is exposed it suffers with a lot of heat soak, and the cold air intake needs to be modified ?? I'm just not sure if a cone 57i will give me any audible difference and how easy or otherwise it is to fit ??

Cool man, might look into it then do you know of any dump valves that can be used on mitos ?? And how much success people have with them ?

Yeah I've looked on there before, nothing for my model in terms of filters or valves. If anyone else has fitted a induction kit or dump/blow off valve then if you could recommend one for me please

I've literally just fitted my DV too my 1.4 TB Mito, in my opinion the panel filter made it sound better, bought a pipercross one and works perfectly. The DV was pretty simple too fit, but mine didn't make that much sound D:, bought a new one and waiting on delivery for it though!
If you are going to get one, I'd advise against the Baileys one, as it doesn't seem too make much of a sound on the 1.4 version I'm guessing because it's twin spring. But then I could be wrong.

Sorry for the late reply, but I had a baileys twin piston one, not sure on the model, will find out later, I think every BOV on the mito will create an engine managemt light problem as you're taking it off the sensor, I have now bought a Grreds dump valve, a lot better than the baileys one, what I did for the management light problem was buy a Wifi OBDII and then download a app too connect too the car and this allows me too turn it off

Ah right thanks Orion , I'll have a look round and do some more digging on it & OperationAlfa :O thanks for the heads up on that mate !! And sorry to go over old ground here but with a 57i Kit from what I've read the cone fits straight onto the factory induction piping ?? If that's true would I not be better getting a Universal Cone to fit on instead of a Kit with the piping etc ? Read a lot about heat soak is this really going to effect performance noticeably and also moving the cold air feed ... Is this a necessity or just something to reduce heat soak at low speeds ?

My only real question is which K&N Universal filter will fit into the existing induction hosing ?? I've been on there website and there is millions of different variants and I have no idea which one would fit xD even if someone could point me in the direction of someone who might know that would be great ... Cheers
