Alfa Romeo F40 Gearbox

Is this identical to the F40 on the Vauxhalls

or are the casings different and they are internally the same or close..

Or arent then similar at all except in name

Not sure about the gear ratios but they are essentially the same thing.

there are some diffrences between them .
156 and 159 2.4 ones are diffrent in the height of the axle, I believe it sits lower on the 156.
All the mounts are alike.

3.2 petrol has a diffent bell , starter is mounted on the front.

All 2,4 gear ratios are the same, 3.2 are diffrent off course.

I would be interested in getting a longer 6th or end ratio if you can find them

The f40 gearbox from a opel vectra or signum cdti it is possible to put on a alfa 156 1.9 jtdm???
The 156 2.4 jtdm uses the f40 gearbox from gm. They are the same???

the 156 didn't use the F40 gearbox in combination with the 1.9 engine. totally different.

it's possible, but can't see a reason you'd want to, and it'll be a lot of work to create fitting driveshafts.
