Exhaust Control Valve

I am currently scoping out a custom exhaust project ....for my Abarth

I am interested in fitting an exhaust control valve to by-pass the rear backbox (for non street use). Problem is now trying to find such a valve. My friend Mr Google refers me to quite few from the US - but searching in detail these seem to be of very poor quality.

It seems that the vacuum exhaust valves that are supplied to Porsche, BMW, Ferrari etc are the best quality BUT these are generally not available as separate items

But recently I found that a company called Pierburg supplies these valves and I have the brochure........but I cannot find a retailer

Any ideas ??

PS: Should mention that I am from Australia but am looking for an European retailer

You DRIVE Italian.........everything else is just transport

Yes that is the sort of thing ...but that particular one is a bit too DIY for myself

I prefer something more off the shelf

Thanks anyway

did you look at motor brake valves like used on the (older) mitsubishi canter?

http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/...AKE_VALVE.html

you could pick one up at a fuso/mitsubishi service center...

How about these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3807224453...84.m1423.l2649

Looks like they ship worldwide as well. I was going to order one until I found a pair of valves off an Aston Martin to play with.

Looked at those .....................

"made in China" so I am giving them a wide berth

Think I have stumbled on a UK made valve ....... just need to find a "retail" outlet

Garage
your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer direct and ask them to suggest a suitable supplier. For the sake of a quick email or call its got to be worth a punt.

Oh done that ..............

But their first reply was what sort of volumes was I interested in

When I responded with ...."1" all I got was ....... <crickets>

NO sweat as I may have found an exhaust manufacturer who will sell me one when they next place a volume order, but a bit of poor form from the manufacturer
