dpf removal?

Iam getting my dpf switched on when I get the car maped so would it be ok to drive it say 7 miles to my mechanic so he can remove the dpf pipe?

Sorry, yeah I ment off, also getting the egr function switched off,
Should I get the cat and center box removed also?
Car is a 2.4 jtdm!

It depends what you are trying to achieve as to how far you take the modifications.

If you remove the Cat along with the DPF your turbo will spool up quicker and you have also made your exhaust more free flowing. You'll find the centre box is your DPF

I have no Cat, DPF or EGR to worry about. My car makes very very good power and is very drivable through all situations it also returns very good economy when driving sensibly.

Will it make the exhaust louder or will I need to change the back boxes for that?

No it won't make the exhaust noticeably any louder, well it did not on mine anyway.

I changed my exhaust for a Alfatune full stainless system, this added a really nice note when you stamp your foot down but its not intrusive when driving normally.
