FYI Giulietta tuning box

Well we've had the Giuli 170 jtd for 3 weeks, and the wife felt it is underpowered compared to her A3 2.0 tfsi with 198 psi, which of course it is!
So, I've bought a tuning box from a company I' ve used before.
It has 3 settings for both torque and power, but is designed for improved driveability and flexibility rather than out right power gains.
I fitted it without telling the wife, but she sure felt the difference. Roundabouts and junctions no longer need a change down in gear. Hills don't need a down shift any more.
More torque and power all through the rev range, seems a bit quiter as well.
Mpg has gone from indicated 46mpg to 52mpg on her normal run.
I have had 2 boxes from this company on my cars and would not be without it, one was 150k before I sold it.
I can't fault a tuning box for £200, with adjustability, on, off switch, removeable when needed, and reprogrameable for your next car.
Mine was from Energy tuning in Ashington, just near me.
I have nothing to do with them, just a satisfied customer.
Oh and they design and build the gear in house in the uk.

That is because the car doesn't realise how much fuel it is actually putting into the engine - the box tells it that is using less than it really is.

I have nothing against boxes, in fact I use one myself.
Power gains are good, however my indicated MPG is 47.9, my actual is 40.1, which is no improvement at all over my MPG pre-box.

I am looking at buying a box so this is some nice bit of information here. Thanks for the heads up. Just out of curiousity what box are you using?

It is one of the cheaper eBay jobbies, "Italian Box" it's called.
To be honest, there is no point spending more than I did on one unless they tap into the MAP sensor (most don't) along with the common rail.
