Brera 2.2 Mods - What would you do?

Ive been thinking of changing my Brera for some time, trouble is most things that compare on a luxury level are significant chunks of cash, so the alternative is drop a wedge of cash on some upgrades to see me through a couple more years of Brera ownership.

If you had a budget of 3k what would you do?
If you had a budget of 5k what would you do?

My car is a standard MY2008 Brera SV, carbonio black, 18" wirespokes, electric memory seats, electric sunblind, blue&me with usb and already got the Prodrive S back boxes but other than that no other mods.

Over to you.

Sean

What do you want to improve the most?

Brera S

Well visually (and also improve handling) I'd put on a set of anthracite S wheels and lower it on Eibach springs. Around 1600 for that and it will look like a new car.

Performance wise, I'm interested in the suggestions. I'm looking to remap and probably change the exhaust which should do quite a bit.

Refinement on the road coupled with some work to increase engine performance and make the car more drivable at low speeds, been thinking about S alloys, probably go for the silver, I think the dark grey versions lose a lot of their visual impact.

If I went for the 19s i'd want to couple them with suspension that is supple to maintain comfort, i'd like to acheive a level of comfort better than oem but still retain good handling characteristics when required, so not sure if that takes me down a quite narrow path in scope of components.

I want GT credentials not hot hatch.

I would change the gearbox to a smoother type, sort out the engine mapping and get the exhaust to sound like an Alfa.

I don't think theres anything wrong with the gearbox personally, the throttle is very peaky at low rpms though which makes the car kangaroo in stop start traffic in my experience.

Ghosty, its like forcing a knife into a pineapple.
The 33, 146 ,155, 156 ive had before all had a better gear changes than the 159/brera mate.

Didn't we have a similar conversation before and basically came to the conclusion that if you want a better/faster car, buy a better/faster car.
Surly you've got 10k worth of car and if you've got 5k to play with theres alot of good motors out there for that sort of money

If you're thinking of 19"s then try them on standard suspension first. I can't think of any aftermarket shocks/springs that will keep it as supple as OEM.

I don't want a different car. I want a Brera S. But If there are ways to get a little more performance out of it I will. if not I'll still look back after I park it each day and smile...

Full exhaust system not stainless, but titanium.
Supercharging and a good remap to Gus.
Prodrive's suspension system.
Light weighting with many carbon parts, like front/rear hood, rear up spoiler. Maybe the 19s oz superforgiata, or the 19s rodrive alloy.
A good brake system with full floated discs front/rear..

Probably the sensible option. Have you decided what you are going to get?
