W/M injection solenoid

Can anyone help me out ?

I have fitted a AEM W/M injection kit to my 159 with good results as part of my major modding process. However due to where I have to mount the tank as I want to keep the spare wheel I am suffering from a slight siphoning issue.

I have purchaced a solenoid to fit in the W/M line, however the soleniod I have is from Devils Own and not from AEM. So the question is how do I wire it in ? Do I connect it in to the LED wiring or do I connect it in to the pump wiring ?

I am a a very competent mechanic but a complete numpty when it comes to electrics. Heres a link to the fitting instuctions.

Heres a link to the soleiod,

Methanol Injection : Alcohol Injection : Water Injection : DevilsOwn

Any help is really appreciated

The "Alfatune" full works
60mm Core Full size RS500 FMIC
AEM W/M Injection
Koni struts / Novitec springs
Grooved & Dimpled discs and pads
19" Prodrive wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Halo's HID's & LED's
Hub dyno'd at well over 500lbft at the wheels ! and that's limited.
Thats over 750 Nm for you figure fiddlers

afaik you connect it to the pump wiring , so when pump is on , selenoid is open.
Or do you want to pre-charge it? With pump constantly on , and selenoid opens when needed?

Thanks for that I give it a go. No I don't want to pre charge it, I just want to stop it siphoning in to the intake system when it parked up.

I would just wire it to the on/off switch. That'll definitely do it.

Hi Clogz. Yes wiring throught the on off switch would work untill I forgot to turn off the W/M by the switch when I go out of the car, would'nt be the first time I've forgotten to turn it off.

My other consern with just wiring through the switch is it would be energized all the time the W/M was switched on and would this not burn out the soleniod. You know electrics are not my forte.
