Hmmm 1.9 JTD 16v - those water injection kits..

Hello to every1

How is it with those water injecton kits, do they really increase output on standard ECU mappings and not just 'felt better'?

I'm not sure, but i guess the water evoporation creates a temperature and pressure drop intake wise, but is this intake pressure drop then detected and compensated, i.e. that the turbo increases output?!

I'm doubtfull since i would assume that the turbo is already at max output/boost (on full throttle), only colder inlet T does not mean increased power output

Hi Allerd,

do you mean the blue & red runs on the 2nd image ( the fairly consistent ones ? )

- and did you see improvement solely on water also...

First run (pink)was with Squadra massimo software
the second run (green) was modified software without wmi,
both last runs were with wmi on , didnt measure on water only.
Maybe you could take a look at coolisbetter.nl , and use google translate or something.
They did many runs with just water, 25 methanol 75 water , 50/50 etc.
I use bio ethanol instead of methanol because its available pretty much everywhere. It's used in table lanterns and costs just 1,50 euro per litre
