failed remaps & dpf jobs

went to see my trusted alfa specialist earlier, and was surprised to see a big pile of bits, pipes & dpf's on the floor - mostly from botched jobs at other 'tuners' which he's been asked to put right. i wonder how many cowboy outfits are out there these days offering a crap service for half a job?

I think I've seen that pile too. Quite scary what people think is a good deal.

i saw that too, the 'tuner' had no idea how to remove them from the map, so had to stick them back onto the bypass pipe

Yeah, I saw those last time I was over as well - Gus has been practicing his 'stacking' technique quite a bit!

The amount of tuning boxes has increased in SA! Worryingly tuning boxes that give you the driver the ability to change parameters and tune the car yourself!!! I haven't heard of anyone who bought these things before though.
