2.4 20v jtdm non-swirl intake, exists?

Hi,

I have a 20v jtdm 200hp from 2006 and it has an alloy intake with swirls. I will shortly be having the manifold out while the cambelt is off and I want to do everything in there that I need while it's 'dead'. Rather than taking out, cleaning and plugging the swirl flap shaft holes to de-swirl the manifold, is there a decent flowing non-swirl manifold for the 20v that I can buy and just replace this one with and it will all bolt in to the throttle body etc and be as good otherwise?

Searched it up and only found mention of an early non-swirl 16v manifold so wondered if the same thing existed for the 5 cylinder and if there was any reason to/not to do this rather than removing my swirl flaps. They are disabled open and it runs a lot better but I want them gone and the thing cleaned up (EGR is also being mapped out when hot, DPF is already gone and mapped out, so far I'm 10mpg up and smoother from low rpm).

Greg.

you'll need the 156/166 175hp manifold , it hasn't got the swirl flaps.

We've probably got a good used one in stock on the shelf - if you're interested please give us a call or email.

Thanks for the posts guys, Autolusso above send me one for £90 I think it was, delivered and it was the later style flap one as we discovered the early on will NOT swap over, the head looks different and all the EGR/throttle body etc is a lot different. So I went for another one the same as mine with the swirl flaps which are easily removed, the shft holes plugged, clean it all up and will swap it for the other one while the cambelt is being done (easy time to take the common rail pump off, needed to access the manifold).

Out of curiosity, will this cause engine management lights etc to come on? I have AHM/Alfatune remap. I wonder whether the swirl flap operation is mapped into that at all....

probably a 10v inlet then ,
I use the backplate of a 159 manifold on my 156 , no problem! egr and trottle body mountings are the same.

Mounting one shouldn't be a problem , the actuator fits right back to the manifold , just leave the leverarm of.

It was an OEM 159 20v manifold we supplied. Definitely not a 10v, that wouldn't fit as it only has 5 runners rather than 10.

Then why did it not fit?
I believe all the 159 20v ones are the same , only ph3 156 and 166 have them without flaps.

(btw I work a A37Auto , the dutch version of AutoLusso)
