Getting 250+ BHP

Hi there! If you look at my post count and join date, you'll notice that I'm new to the forum. The reason that I'm new is because... well I don't own an Alfa.

The reason I've come here is because I am planning on building a Hawk Stratos (Lancia Stratos replica, if your unfamiliar).

I've rounded down my engine choice to two possibilities, either the 3.0L V6 from the Alfa 164, or the 2.5L V6 from the 155.
I am aware that the 3.0L makes about 190BHP and the 2.5L makes about 170BHP, so not a massive difference in power there, but I'm aiming for around 250BHP or there abouts.

This is where you come in, can it be done and how can it be done through tuning options, other than turbo/supercharging.

~Sam

PH1 GTV TS

How about a 3.0 V6 from a GTV as it makes 220 standard?

What AndyMac said.

GTA: standard 250 bhp.
Upgraded with new plenum, throttlebody, free flowing exhaust and chip: 270-280bhp.
Upgraded pistons plus conrods and camshafts, light flywheel 290 - 300 (?) bhp and higher revs.
Increased volume to 3.75 liters; 315-330 bhp and increase in torque.

If you need more, then either a turbo, or supercharger. It can go from 350 to 500. Depending on the budget

Why is it you want to use a 12v engine, may I ask?

Use the gtv 24v engine, 250bhp is easy to achieve and for very little money too

All you need to do is find a 3.2 GTA engine that autolusso haven't got !!!

Would like to stick a gta engine in the 155, but they price them at 1000s...

As per the original post, the 12V V6 can be uprated to give 250, by replacing internals, like cams, conrods, pistons etc, and probably for less than Autolusso will charge for a GTA engine

The 3.2 GT / GTV motor is very close to the GTA engine... It is newer than GTA and might be cheaper... worth a look...

It's not very close, it's the same, no differences except perhaps another software to downtune it, if at all. It's also not newer or older.

Why don't you consider Fiat Coupe 2.0 20VT engine as well......330hp is not that hard to achieve with hybrid turbo and stock internals......
