2.4jtdm 200vs 210hp exhaust manifold

Hi Guys,

I could probably do with pointing toward an Alfa/Fiat parts catalogue as I'm a VAG guy and don't have any, but a simple question:

I'm doing a GTB2260V conversion on my 200hp 2.4 20v which has a KKK turbo. I will need a GTB2056 turbo to use some of the housings etc off from a 210hp (let me know if anyone has one please that I can use for parts!) but do I also need the manifold? Or is the manifold on my 200hp with the KKK the same as the 210hp with the Garrett? It looks similar with a 4 bolt turbo fixing but I need to know this before I start ripping it apart, as if a different manifold for the garrett I'll need to go down that route as well.

Also I could do with an intake manifold for a 2.4 20v to modify if anyone has one...

Greg.

As far as I know it is completely the same. "Newer" turbo fits bolt to bolt.

All you need to know is on here.

Start at post 380 for your turbo info, but is well worth reading it all.

thanks Clogz/Coxy.
Yes as aready said KKK and Garrett share same fixings, I have read that oil supply feed is different between both but I don't know if this is length or union difference, I've also read that the oil return/drain is different, and actuator bracket needs checking, so you will need those Garrett/Alfa parts.

We have Adam at TDI turbo's who can rebuild/machine a garrett 2056 to take all the 2260 parts so its simply plug and play, he may still be able to help if you ask him. [email protected]

Or it is possible to mount the 2260 3 bolt turbine housing upto the Alfa 4 bolt exhaust manifold with an adapter. The 2260 exhaust exit bore is 2.5", if your planning a large bore exaust system this may be a better option and less of a "choking point" as the std 2056 v-band housing bore is 2.25", it is possible to machine out the v-band on the 2056 to 2.5" but the walls become very thin and may crack, we don't know for sure, as far as we know know one has tried yet.
All details on making the 3 to 4 bolt adapter and 2260 compressor housing alteration is found on my thread, Clogz has just been undertaking the same transplant and documenting it on his thread too.

Partnumbers that you need to replace your KKK Borg Warner to the better Garrett 2056v:
Oil feed hose (210hp): 55207939 35.97
Oil return pipe (210hp): 55207938 45.24
Banjo bolt with internal filter mesh: 46460121 10.96
Gasket: 55200426 19.07
Gasket: 55202540 6.27
Gasket: 55193060 4.16
4x copper washer: 55211440 5.86

Total = 127.53.

All parts and part numbers were supplied by Jerry159 who has done this job on his 2006 159 2.4

That is very interesting, I would love to see a similar parts list (including aftermarket obviously) to do the GTB2260V conversion. I like the idea of keeping the GT2260V in it's stock casing as maching costs a lot and I'd also have to buy an Alfa GTB2056V - I already have the GTB2260VK to do the conversion.

I also like the larger exhaust outlet, I think this is probably the way to go. Probably a touch more trouble and a fair bit cheaper overall.
