Chris-GT-Project 200.

So i've had this car(Alfa GT JTDm Lusso on 26k)for a few months now. When I got it, it was already fitted with:

#Bilstein coilovers (B14 PSS) -30mm
#Q2 Diff Fitted
#Leather/Bose/Sat Nav

Since i've had it i've done:

#Full service/cambelt/waterpump
#Proper Alfa Gt deep pile mats
#Brushed metal Tax disc holder
#Repainted all wheel nuts in Hammerite black
#Added a X-Carlink Ipod connector in glovebox
#Full underbody Waxoyl treatment
#Only run on Shell V-Power Diesel

Step#1 As i'm going to keep this car i'm hoping to get it running at a solid 200bhp, not huge power by today's standards but enough for me. So 1st thing i am doing is going to Red Dot tomorrow for a EGR delete and remap. I hope to reach around the 180 bhp mark.

It does have a Autodelta Tuning Box at the moment fitted by the previous owner, but I am having this removed prior to the map tomorrow.

I am aware after this for more power I may have think about an uprated clutch etc.

My next jobs will be:

#BMC Panel Filter
#JS Tuning Down/centre pipe
#Custom Powerflow exhaust
#JS Tuning FMIC
#Final remap

Step 2 will probably have to wait till spring, hopefully these mods will see me to a reliable 200bhp.

If it was one of the later cars, 07 onwards, you might already have the 170bhp engine, so have it checked on a rolling road. I think many were labelled as only 150, as AR were marketing the sport button on their special editions, but engines were the same.

A good remap should then see you over the 200 bhp mark no trouble.

Good luck tomorrow, you will enjoy the increase in power.

Just got back and am really pleased with the results. Didn't go for an overly aggressive map was looking for around the 180hp mark, ended up with a little more, now I just need to find 8 more horses to reach my goal...

As Pablo explained the graph showing the Tuning box run highlights how these boxes merely magnify the original map. That said I was more than happy with the car before with the box on, the main reason for my journey was the EGR delete.

On the rollers...

Graphs below:

1st run(Tuning [email protected])
"]
2nd run(standard)

3rd run(Custom Remap)

Red Dot.They will map it how you want whether you want power or economy etc, he reckon's according to the graph the car will be more economical than the tuning box. It had a Autodelta tuning box on 7.(now for sale)

To be honest I drive like an old man, only do 500 miles a month and only tend to use the power from 3rd up. I am fully prepared to replace the clutch with an uprated one tho when the time comes.

Id only change the brakes if I were you.

I had all the mods, FMIC, exhaust blah blah blah. three things made a big difference and they were suspension, big brake conversion and a good re-map (originally had a cheap re-map but had Gus at alfa tune do it again and difference is night ans day!).

The exhaust made it sound pretty good for a derv I suppose and maybe that and the FMIC made a little difference to the end power but since Ive put it back to standard (other than remap) the things I notice is the coilovers and brakes!!
