Fitting Supersprint exhaust to a 147

Hi all,
I've just bought a secondhand Supersprint centre section and backbox for my 147 and hopefully going get it fitted tomorrow. It's the one with twin pipes - just wondering how far up in the bumper recess the pipes can sit without melting the bumper? A mechanic took a look the other day and said they had to sit quite low down, but I think they look much better sitting within the cutout. Is he talking rubbish? Also, is £35 about right for fitting?
Cheers!

I have the supersprint with the twin pipe (with straight-through centre section), and it just fits perfectly in the cutout, 100% identical to the original exhaust.... (at least on my GTA)

You can see a picture on the supersprint website:

I bought a oo pipe supersprint and fitted it to my 2.0 TS 147.

Have a look in the thread.

Great, thanks! OA, I'd seen your vid on Youtube before but hadn't seen these pics. It looks like the pipes are quite far up. Hasn't caused your bumper any probs then? Looks awesome, can't wait to get it on!

Took a quick snap of mine for you. This is the one that was on OperationAlfa's old car. It's been on for a couple of years and I've had no heat-related problems.
Would you mind PM-ing me what you paid for yours? I'm interested as I'm putting mine up for sale soon. Cheers.

Thanks for all your help. It's now on, and looks and sounds great. The car's in serious need of a wash, but here are some quick before and after pics...

Haha, yes it seems pretty quiet at lower revs, but it can be louder when you want it to be Had to resist the urge to rev like an idiot at traffic lights on the way back!
