How fast is a tuned Brera?

Having recently had the DPF removal remap done on my 210bhp 2.4 taking it up to approx 270 bhp, I was wondering if anyone has any idea how fast it would be in relation to other regular production cars?

I had a bloke planted right up my [email protected] for ages who then tried to get past me on a slip road in a T5 Volvo C30. It's 230bhp and he gave me good run, but couldn't get past and it got me wondering if anyone has actually got any figures 0-60 times etc to compare the performance of a remapped brera with other cars on the road. Or, if not, just some anecdotal tales?

0-60 is crap because of the gearing - it'll never be a traffic light hero.

In gear pace in third and fourth is enough to give some fairly tasty car a fright sometimes though in my experience.

Even remapped however, 159s/ Spiders/ Breras are never going to be properly quick due their weight.

A remapped 2.4 is no slouch.... I remember only just having the edge against one when I had my 156 GTA...

You have to bear in mind the C30 is a turbo 2.5 (the Volvo engine that they fit to focus ST's). If they remap that.....

The T5 may be 230bhp but they get close to 300 with a remap and induction.

My old man had a T5 back in the day. It was legendary amongst my friends at high school. He used to drive me and my mates to parties and the boys would beg him to floor it. Even at a high speed, when he floored it it still pulled you back in your seat and that was with a full car. Sounded awesome too from what I remember.

Plus as he had a CB ariel on the roof everyone got out of his way immediately on the motorway as they all sort he was CID!

Agree with the above totally, mine gets beaten off the lights by a bloody clio it's that heavy and gearing ratio but get it rolling especiallly in 3rd + and she is a light more spritely.

I've pulled away from a Focus ST since mine's been remapped...

Perhaps he was just blinded by the black smoke coming out of the back!

Seriously though that is impressive as they are no slouches.

Audi TT's Civic type R's Clio Cups. All the chav wagons have been beaten fairly comfortably.

GTV 2.8 Turbo

My stock 159 2.4 200bhp auto managed a 16.3 ¼ mile on a strip where strong GTA’s could only manage 15.5s I imagine with +/- 270bhp and a lot more torque a manual 159 / Brera should sit with them. Although the Auto actually launches quickly as soon as you get past the idea of letting the gearbox load up against the brakes. If you do that it pulls off with both wheels spinning.
