Help GTV quad pipe - rear valance mod?

I'm considering a quad exhaust for the GTV 2.0 Twinnie. I know the rear valance will require a chunk chopped out of it, but can anyone give advise on how to do the job without making it look like a bodge?

Are you fitting it yourself or going to a garage.
The latter may well dremmel cut it as part of the service.

I went to MIJ for my quad exhaust and they cut and shaped it perfectly.

cut it yourself by taking off the bumper and stencil the shape of the standard cut-out and use a dremel or similar to cut out the same shape on the other side. I'd use the item in the following link to cover where you cut: Alfa Romeo Shop - Tuning, Styling, Fanartikel und Modellautos - Alfa Spider und Alfa GTV Sportauspuff Ausschnittblende Auspuff Ausschnittblenden fr Duplexanlagen 53453

Very quick delivery from Alfisti.net too

On my old GTV I had the custom exhaust place do it for me.

Was very impressed with the end result.

Those quads look pretty slick, where did you get them from? My exhaust is blowing in 2 places, sounds great though I wouldn't like it to get any louder! Just weighing up whether to get twins or quads...

I used A44 exhausts in Worcester cost about £500 all in and i would def recommend them. The sound was immense and I really miss my GTV, I actually keep a keen eye out for a cheap V6 as I fancy another toy.

The following clip gives indication of the noise, warning though if you watch you will buy this exhaust, you have been warned !!!

That's your vid!? That clip is legendary!

What exactly was the exhaust setup on there? Sounds epic.

Yep that was my baby and my mates Ferrari. If you listen carefully you'll hear the guy filming it laugh near the end as whist having the little 'race' a bloody van nearly pulls out in front of us, scared the life out of me.

I love the comments on the clip especially the ones claiming the Ferrari is an MR2! Trust me on the dual carriageway I was shown a clean pair of heels by the Ferrari that is most def not an MR2.

Re set up it was a full Powerflow system for cat backwards with the BMC CDA Carbon air box. The noise was glorious not loud just perfect I was forever erring stopped by people admiring the car, wish I never sold it now

Back in the fold !

Forgot to add I've earned a whopping £80 to date in advertisements on YouTube for posting the clip

Maybe that's the secret to subsidising exhaust mods then... Although for a quarter of a million views that's not such a great rate of return.

So was it a completely unsilenced setup? I've got a quad setup on a CF3 engine, which has the normal mid silencer and a just a single small rear one. Could do with hearing a bit more from it. Mind you, I've got bushes on their way out, should probably put the money toward that.

Nope silencers where present I didn't want it loud just to emphasis the noise more.

I Powerflexed my GTV and it made a massive difference to handling, albeit the old bushes were past it

A6, thanks for the video clip, my car ls the same as the GTV you raced against the Ferrari. It's got the cup kit, looks great in silver as well, gave that Ferrari a run for it's money!
