147 Jtd 8v Remaping

Hi just bought a Alfa 147 jtd 8v about a month ago and need more power just wondering what kind of experiences and results people have had from cheap remaps (remaps without rolling road tuning)?

Rolling road remaps don't have to be expensive! I had my Multipla done a while back by someone I've not used before, but the experience was good and best of all it was the cheapest remap I've ever had done, and I've had a few.

Anyway, the 8v pumped out 155bhp with 280ft.lbs of torque but sadly it was too much for the clutch so it was detuned to 150bhp with 240ft.lbs as this was for more usable. Not sure if the clutches are the same in the 147 but that's plenty of power for me and I'm still averaging 40mpg.

getting a lot a feed back about remaps destroying clutches may have to pass on it dont want to spend £200-£300 on a remap then a £1000 on replacing the clutch

147 jtdm

All my JTD cars are chip tuned and only problem I had was when trying to get to much out of Punto 1.9 JTD but it has different clutch than 147. Punto was chip tuned brand new and now it has 190.000km on clock (still going strong with reasonable map). My 147 8v jtdm is now on limits of stock turbo and no clutch issues (DIY chip tuning).
