Hmmm remapping mito 1.4 tb

hey all.

i'm new to all the tuning department so i'm getting my car in few weeks and i have found out that remapping my car with celtic tuning will give me:
Power (Bhp) 135 170 +35
Torque (Lbft) 152 195 +43

and i want to ask if i do this will my warranty or service (3 years free i got with the deal) be intact or if something will happen to the car and i will take it to the dealer i will have problems???

and did anyone done remapping on same type of vehicle and how much will it cost me to remap?

thanks

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!! lol

i had mine remapped by celtic, turned on all the warning lights and disabled stop start. the guy said they will just go away when the ecu learns the new map. suprise suprise they didnt. had to take it back to alfa and they had to reset the ecu, luckily asking no questions... the only good thing i can say good about them is that they gave me a refund. Also he said it normaly happened...

If you done a search on google or on here im sure you would find the post.

More recently i had mine done by monza sports tuning. search for it and you can read it.

Check autolusso also they had a few options open, however never personaly used, alot of people have good things to say about them

Costs about 300 quid for the remap but worth every penny.

mpg is slightly improved also

Thing is mate, alot of the cheaper places you go will just put a generic map on with lots of errors.

A company like monza developed the remap for each car on the rolling road. that means you know the remap will be specificaly designed for your car with no flat spots or errors.

Dont go cheap on something like this, it will only cause you problems

Ok ty for that.
Well when I get the car I will drive it for few days and see how it will feel. Because I'm changing from my last car which had 60bhp to the new 135 Lol so I guess I might not need it after all as it's more than double. Does it feel any more different after remapping?? I know u will get few more out of it, but what else it gives you, I just want to know the feeling after it's been done if you know what I mean.

Firstly congrats on moving another rung up the 'car ladder'! Bet you can't wait to pick up the Mito?!

What have you been driving until now?

I think you have the right idea - learn the car and how it behaves and once your used to the power get it remapped to give it a new lease of life.

A good remap will give you more power and torque, giving the car more acceleration in every gear. Nowadays it is the best power/ vs cost modification money can buy and the first step for most who want to get more out of their car.

On the cruise you may also find you will get better economy.

When do you pick the car up?

Luck is the residue of opportunity and design...

hi james.
i'm driving fiat punto dynamic which is great little car for first learners, i have driven it for 5 years because my insurance is through the roof. so now i thought i need something faster because the car is over 10years.

the sales man told me that i should pick it up in few weeks before my bday (i told him i want it before that) so fingers crossed i should get it very soon, cant wait.

Happy days mate.

Bet she will feel like a rocket after the Punto and a major step up in the world.

So is the Mito brand new or used? What spec, colour etc?

Just be aware that you will need to declare the remap to your insurer. If you are looking to renew your cover any time soon, be aware that some insurers will not cover remaps at all. Those that do will tend to apply a percentage loading to the premium based on the percentage increase to performance that the map applies.

Oh right so Celtic Tuning aren't so good then, are they?!! I was going to book up for a remap with them at the end of the month for just over £300 but after reading this thread it is making me think again. Might have to check out Monza then. Thanks for the heads-up!

I suppose it could be be to do with them not having the setup right for the new mutiair engines, mine is the old t-jet (155bhp). But I'll get a quote from Monza as well.

Don't have a clue James. He said end of the month or early April :/
He also said he will let me know if there is any news that was 2 weeks ago and still nothin.
But when I get it I just want to see how it will drive first as I'm gainin 70bhp compair to my old car. So maybe after all it will be more than enough for me

Not long now buddy, I know the waiting must be excrutiating but on the other hand it is also kind of fun when you have something to look forward to.

I guess as far as the salesman is concerned there is nothing he can do or tell you now until it arrives or he gets a call about a firm delivery date.

Yeah dude its gonna feel quick after the Punto I am sure and a leap forward in terms of power and quality. Gotta love taking big steps up the 'car ladder'. And then once you have the hang of it and crave a little more go, a remap will help you fall for it all over again!

Keep us posted pal.

That's a lovely post you made
I feel like a child waiting for Xmas present hehe

And you right it should be way quicker than my punto, in a way I'm scared to as I never driven any other car than mine and to me it seems already FAST 8)

The only problem I have now, my insurance is way higher then what I should have.

I know there are few people who work for INSURANCE, can anyone give me help to put it down some how??????
